I read out a poem from a IIT Roorkee professor which had the line : Teach your children to be happy about ordinary things and the extraordinary will take care of itself.❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍

Dear Professor Fredrickson, I enjoy your work tremendously. Love 2.0 was such a great introduction to how we understand emotions differently and why we do so.

As an English trainer I will definitely use some positive stimuli for my students to perform better. Even a nice memory will work, I suppose.

I saw a mathematical professor comment that he does not send rigid marching armies of graduate students to prove theorems. The best ideas come on the sofa or shower much like Archimedes. Just an anecdote but in line with what Dr Barbara is saying about openings.

What if your entire life was one of abuse assault and ripple effects of that abuse are u saying positive thinking can fix and change that
@bluebotlivingston60164 жыл бұрын
Yes, but not just thinking. Positive action towards building skills and better habits can fix that, or at least vastly improve it.
@ramkumarr17253 жыл бұрын
Yes. It can shift your focus from negative emotions (revenge, jealousy, self pity) to positive emotions (humor, happiness, compassion and love. Whether it is a fix or a change is upto you to decide when you look into the mirror.

Please stop this "Bag of Candy" nonsense. Candies are in no way an item that translates into happiness for most people. Candies make you fat. At least that is the perception students have of them. If you offer a bag of candies to each student in a average group they will take a couple at most, they will never munch through the bag as if they were troglodytes. Agout the allegations made in this video, if there was any improvement on the scores of these students it was because candies, due to it's high caloric intake will help them recover the energy lost during these usually long and stressful tests, just like runners or anyone that involves in an activity that burns your energy reserves.

It's not about the bag of candy per se - it's about the 'small gift' - the little shot of dopamine.

I see your frustration. I see a lot of people even suggesting psychedelics. All this psychedelics, sugar, ice cream and chocolate are done deals in terms of both the demographic that engaged with the same as well as their values as well as being comfort foods. I am happy nowadays to see two blue ticks on my messenger app and a heart emoji. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏👍👍

@@RQPeterson I understand this brain and its chemistry part. Hey, I even did a course on it. But have you got an exercise or yoga or massage high? Again do not boil it down to endorphins.
