Wow, she was beautiful with a beautiful voice. Also showed this to my Uncle, who was there. Said this was one of the few good memories he has of being in Vietnam. He has nightmares til this day. Thanks for sharing!

yagurlnell yeah, until this video I never knew much about her...the fact that she married white men never really sat well with me!

No question. A forgotten all-around talent. She's a great example of the truly "unsung."

She had slipped from my memory. She was great. And was one of the trailblazers who worked at bringing everybody together in the 60s and 70s.

I got choked up watching this. My favorite Uncle did 2 tours of Vietnam, in 1967 and 1968. He was the first to graduate college in his generation, yet did not dodge the draft , and after, I was the first African American female to graduate college in my age group of the family. He died in 1994, had he been alive he would be 73 years old, same as the racist, 5 time draft dodging, lying uneducated grafter , trump who makes me ashamed , as an American and part of a military family that has fought in every conflict or war, the U.S. has been engaged in, to have such a RACIST, INCOMPETENT FRAUD, in our Whitehouse.

...So sad there has to be War. The leaders of the countries need to duel, and leave the common man alone. So sad there has to be comedy to lift up a sad situation. The Vietnamese soldiers just wanted to go home to their wife & girlfriend friends and kids just like the Americans soldiers.

Good lord..... that's what was considered entertainment back in 1967!!!!! A bunch of cheesy jokes & some slow singing songs. *You minus well put me back in the action with CHARLIE!* Ps. Just playin... respect to the soldiers. But good Lord compaired to today's entertainment, *that was boring as hell!*
