I was on this tour in the band (from the USAF band in D.C.) and can say that Sammy (and others) did a lot of good for the troops while there. This tour was intended for the military in Nam & as far as I know, there was never any commercial use of any of the footage - unlike Bob Hope. Nixon was in China at the same time, so this tour didn't get a lot of press. Sammy was indeed an amazing performer and though I was only with this group for a few weeks, he was always pretty straight ahead with us.
