Yes she did have an Irish connection, found out she was my nans 2nd cousin and now know our family roots go from London back to Ireland on that side of the family.

We had a few matchbox maker girls in my family and I'm so proud of them. They all kept a brilliant sense of humour in the hellish of circumstances and we're so flipping proud. They had one hat apparently and all took turns in wearing it every other day to feel special when it was there turn! My family had next to nothing but looked like movie stars. I had no idea at the time but I grew up just a few streets. I wish I could go back in time and ask my relative so much. Always take the time to speak and even record your elders if your lucky enough to have them!
