Wait a minute, so are you just locked out of a character if someone else is using it? If thats true, why are so many people in Darktide saying they want individual characters like VT? Fuck man, if someone plays Vet in DT, I'm not locked out of playing a Vet. Why would anyone want this Overwatch you-cant-play-your-main-because-someone-got-it-first way of doing things? Why would anyone want that? (I don't play VT so I don't know, apologies if I'm mistaken)

Yes everything you said is true, if someone picks a certain character you want to play then you are locked out of picking that said character, the reason for this is bcuz of lore reasons there’s only 1 of each character/personality where as with darktide they did away with this system for a more generalized character system where you make your own version of your character with whatever personality and voice u wanted.

@@Barbarabic Yeah, I just don't get the criticism against the way DT does it - I've never played VT\2, so I was unaware of the lockout. I just don't get why DT players are complaining that Fatshark changed that. Seems like an objectively better way of doing things than how VT does it. Color me confused.

⁠@@HasshodoI don’t think people are complaining about the character lock system but more so the Darktide characters themselves. I think the main criticism is that the Darktide characters aren’t really that fleshed out in terms of personality/interactions. Vermintides cast is of course fully written and set in stone characters , which makes writing voice lines and interactions much easier.

@@0HUMMER8 I can understand that. I never played VT2 but I did enjoy listening to the banter. Personally while it may seem like DTs characters are lacking and less by comparison, but I prefer the freedom of creating my own then just playing Kruber-but-as-a-guardsman. Also consider the fact that each voice option is a character. We actually have 12 character options, not 4, and there is enough variation in the name and female characters that, really, we actually have 24 or close to it. That's how I see it.
