Second record I buy after discovering it on your channel (it's getting dangerous !). First was The Baronets - Gunpowder. Sensory System copies for sale on Discogs are a bit too costly for me at the moment. Not danish, but I also recently purchased The White - I denna samling 1979 from Sverige, it rules. Barbarella takes us through varied moods and dynamics throughout, all beautifully crafted, with a strong sense of COOL. This record can make one feel happy ! For ex : the middle bridge on the eponym song with the too doo doos and background crowd is a smile raiser. I'm amazed at the maturity of this band's musicians and more generaly of past decades : they can be barely 20 or younger and composed rich, strong, intense albums. Blessings for sharing this record !

@@KptainRed Comments like makes me feel like I succeeded! So cool! Did you check out my videos about Dårskabens hus? It's the same band as The Baronets, but funkier and trippier. A great Danish prog band that almost everybody are unaware of. In my next videos I will talk about Charlatangruppen. Their first album has the whole 1976 lineup of Barbarella as the backing band. It's a funkier outfit with the Sensory System drummer René Wulf and Blues Addicts guitarist Ivan Horn. It's a bit silly record, but there are some great tracks on it.

@@The-Danish-Record-Hunter I'm going to listen to Dårskabens hus, thanks. Is it a reference to the 1951 swedish film ? Haven't seen it but the plot and tagline ("A film about TORMENT - CRISIS - SIN - PASSION - DESIRE and THIRST in 1940s Lillköping") are attractive !

@@KptainRed I don't think so. The lyrics are very political on that record and talks about the environment, social injustice and the medical industry. It's all sung in Danish.

Given the material I found so far and the time I can put into it right now, it might feel more like a gathering of nice songs (according to personal tastes ;-) but I always try to order the track list so that dynamics and feelings have a meaning from one tune to the other.

@@FrothNinja They were from the same area in Copenhagen as Gasolin'. Christianshavn and Amagerbro. Barbarella often performed at Klub 47 with groups such as Ache and Alrune Rod. Barbarella guitarist Kenneth Carter had previously played in Alrune Rod, but didn't appear on any of their albums.

I know what you mean. I have lots of albums from Brazil that I would like to buy. Unfortunately, Brazilian prog rock is expensive. I have two original Casa Das Máquinas LPs, but luckily I bought them in São Paulo myself. There are so many others I would love to own. Such as Os Mutantes, O Terço, Gal Costa and so on. I once bought Pentagram - Day of Reckoning (The original) from a shop outside São Paulo and had it shipped all the way to Denmark.
