Barbasol 1919 or Cremo Cooling Mint Shave Cream with Rockwell 6S Razor?

In today's video we're shaving with the Barbasol 1919 on one side, Cremo Cooling shave cream on the other side and comparing them. They are both brush-less slick shave creams. I'll be using the Rockwell 6S for shaving, which has become my favorite razor.

Thanks! That's awesome! The Blackbird has always amazed me. At one of the museum's they had one of the engines setting beside the plane, couldn't imagine the engineering involved back in those days. Did you notice the space shuttle in the background of the DC photo?

I love Cremo. Like you, I upgraded from Edge gel to Cremo during my cartridge years. When I switched to DE, I had a tube left over, so I used it as a pre-shave and also as a "booster" for traditional soaps. Also, I love the Palo Santo cologne and the hair forming cream is fantastic.

@Atlas Shaving cremo has the distillers blend and palo santo now. those are back for good.

I really like the all day conditioning cremo provides with the scent, even if it does gunk up the shaving gear from the slickness. Ill use proraso foam on top for an extra thick traditional soap like experience which is a great shortcut if you cant use a bowl while traveling.

Have you tried using the Cremo as a preshave under your soap? It actually works pretty well.

I use to mix it in with my shave soaps when I first started wet shaving a few years ago. I've since stopped for a couple of reasons. 1. The shave soaps seems to be pretty slick for the most part. 2. The Cremo type shaving cream clog the safety razor and you have to take the blade out and clean it after every shave. It seems if you get a good lather that you don't really need it. But I say if it works for you, then do it!

With the Barbasol 1919, do you feel that for the 2nd pass all that's necessary is to wet the face? Is it slick enough that you don't have to reapply for a 2nd pass, and perhaps just a wee bit for a 3rd pass after a bit of a face rinse? Barbasol currently has a 20% off code on their site for everything. Six bottles of their 5 oz. Barbasol Brisk aftershave is $16 with the discount. At that price, one could give a few as gifts and look like quite the sport! It's less than half of what the retailers charge per bottle.

The canned version is foam, the Barbasol 1919 is more of a cream.

One thing I do is run my razor (a vintage 1949 Gillette Super Speed) under very hot tap water and that takes care of any clogging whither its shaving soap or cream....sloshing your razor in the sink or bowl doesn't do any good at all!!👎👎

Do any Shave Pucks or hard soaps are going to work?. You can mix and match old soaps? to fit in any mug or cup that you like to use. like (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arkos shave soaps?) Cut the bar soap up, put in a mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave for a minute or so? if it foams up, stop. the water keeps it from burning itself up? (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy does it? let cool don't want to crack the mugs or cups you're using? ( you just went it to congeal in your mug or cup') place in the sun, until soap hardens? When using Dry Brush more Water. For its (price point?)' (I use Dove bar soaps?) (use any soaps Out there ??) save your money spend it on your wife don't listen to the shave mafia.try to save people money in these inflationary times wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas

The best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3 better then boar cheaper in the long run it is 29mm. i mic it' it's like buying a $275 badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a badger hair or boar can, cheap to buy, I have owned it for 5 years with no hair loss with no problems wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
