A few more AK Xtreme Metal colors showed up in the mail. This time it's their Chrome, Gold and Polished Aluminum. These paints perform well as we found out in my earlier video test but now I can test out their Chrome with all the other chromes I've been testing. Let's see how it holds up

Has anyone tried the black primer and micro filler (ak757). Is lays down well, but it seems to remain slightly tacky even after a week. My biggest complaint is that you can’t mask over it. Any type of masking tape, left for more than an hour will be very hard to remove, but worse still….the adhesive on the tape stay behind. It almost looks like the adhesive has bonded with the primer. I love the AK Extreme series though, I mainly use the aluminum, polished aluminum and steel.

You explain things in such a way that it's very easy to understand. It took me 44 years to get into these metalizers because I tried it when Alclad first came out and got horrible results. My fault totally, I was just not doing it right. I always settled for the kit chrome which in most cases is just not right. I just had decent results with alclad, but I ordered 3 bottles of spaz stix chrome. I haven't tried it yet. Have you ever experimented with that? I think it's actually for lexan r/c bodies but guys are reporting great results on models. I never heard of AK but I plan to try that now too. That polished aluminum would look awesome on a semi trailer. Probably need a few bottles though

Once you try the lps I don't think you'll want to go back to tamiya acrilics. I've got to ask you a troubleshooting Q for the Chrome: have you found any incompatibility with these and Alclad gloss black, if the black only sets for a day or so beforehand? I see you get a nice chrome finish and I could have sworn the first time I used it I did it over all class black and got a similar chrome finish. But lately I'm trying to use it again and all I get is sort of a hazy reflective silver nothing like Chrome, and if I spray it heavy it's clearly reacting with the layer underneath. BUT if I spray it on a black spoon that has Aqua gloss over it then no matter how thick I spray it just dries up to a beautiful chrome finish.. does the All-Clad gloss black need to cure for like a week or something before you can use it with the AK Chrome? Or has something changed with my bottle of either paint? Would really appreciate your feedback
@LawrenceValverde

they are a "quick drying" enamel from what I could learn.
