Testing Tamiya Metal Colors Spray Cans - These Are Really Nice Paints

In this video I test 13 different Tamiya Spray Cans Metal Colors. While these are not the same as Alclad metalizer style paints, they're still awesome paints. At the end of the video I put screen shots of each color so be sure to check them out. These are real nice paints and they are pretty affordable.
I highly recommend them

@@24Box A man after my own heart. I'm planing a huge Tamiya Spray Can shoot out. Literally just wrote down every can I want in the battle. I'm trimming some off the list to cut down on the $200 investment but I might end up comparing the metallics together, then the clears, then the $20 cans of gold & silver. Keep your eyes peeled, it's coming soon 👍

Tamiya's TS Lacquers are gorgeous. Great colours and a great, durable finish. You can buy most of them in smaller 10ml jars now for airbrushing in the LP line. But even better is to decant from the spray can into glass jars and then run it through the airbrush. For a little over twice the price of a 10ml jar, you can decant between 70 -100ml from a spray can (the pearl and metallic cans tend to have less actual paint in them but still loads more than a 10ml jar). Its the same paint and sprays perfectly with little or no thinning. All you need is a glass jar and a plastic bendy straw - the straw fits right over the outlet on the cap and sprays into the jar, the bend in the straw slows the flow down so it doesn't spray everywhere, and as long as you let it off-gas overnight (just loosely sit the cap on top of the jar without tightening it) it won't bubble over when you stir or shake it.

An all gray Gundam would be great. Very modern military aircraft looking. I'm planning on a clear coat test and part of it will be gloss coating flat colors

I'm not familiar but if it's on metal I would go with a Krylon or Rust-Oleum brand as they are made for metal. These Tamiya Spray Paints are formulated for plastic

I have to say these Tamiya spray cans don't really need a primer, they cover really well. The gold's and the silvers do look best over black. That said, I do like to prime and Mr Surfacer is my favorite primer. When possible I always prime but I do have friends who never prime anything, ever and their kits look great

Hey there, I have been watching your spray paint and airbrush videos and they are amazing! I am actually trying to find a dull brass/gold spray paint for a steel antique fan blade. I don’t want any metallic in it I like the look of the Tamiya TS 21 gold and the all clad that you compared it to. Anyway is there any information about a non-metallic dull antique gold or brass spray paint for metal????I really would appreciate some guidance here. I keep buying cans and they go on grainy or textured. Any advice

I found these very pigment heavy and I feel they would cover any color under them. That said, I will test it tomorrow and let you know the results. I will post a Pic in my community page

Well these Tamiya Spray Paints cover bare plastic really well. I say you don't need to prime with these cans. However, I feel the gold and silver type colors appear nice over a black base but by no means do these need a primer. My friend is a pro model builder and he doesn't believe in primer believe it or not, he never uses them. And he wins awards with his builds. To each his own
