I have the exact same bucket all my leads feeders in one pva in the over and baits in the bucket, can get all you need in there, another great video

Right on! Yes, a great item of tackle. I will need a new one as rats managed to destroy some parts of it during the winter 😁

Andrew as for bait for barbel i use when on the river river wye i use lots of hemp that's a must i cook all my own hemp then add whatever additive i prefer i never uuse a bait dropper ever that's a matter or choice i just clip a big feeder on the line and use that to feed my swim simply cast 3 or 4 times i also use a groundbait catapult, for my hook bait i always use 14mm and 20mm drilled halibut pellets on a hair rig i find pellets work for me far better than boilies but that's down to choice as for advice keep barbel rigs simple no need for ridiculous complicated rigs keep all fishing simple this is my barbel rig,Simply put feeder on to the mainline then attach a quick change bead to your mainline attach anti tangle sleeve to your hooklength then attach hook to quick change bead that's it job done,During mid summer i will use a fly-fishing rod especially for the wye barbel awesome way to catch these fish on a fly-fishing rod,i forgot to mention i use lots of ground bait i dont have a preferred type of ground bait i find a good sonubaits ground bait works a treat i have caught lots of river wye barbel again this season my number 1 hook bait i used last season and this season is sonubaits hot n spicy sausage halibut pellets the barbel go crazy for them MY ADVICE TO ANY ANGLER IS KEEP IT SIMPLE i have landed barbel upto 14LB 2OZ by KEEPING IT SIMPLE Andrew i have the same bucket the ridge monkey best on the market in my opinion good video Andrew nice 1 Alien

Yes, very good advice to KEEP THINGS SIMPLE. I go away from it only if I feel that I need OR when I am experimenting ✌ Cheers

I use exactly the same tactics on the Severn with the same pellets. Which stretch of the Wye would you recommend for a day ticket?

Hi Andrew, I used Complex-T boilie 20mm, soaked in the Complex-T dip ...and I caught 14 barbels ! Thanks for your tip :-)
@AndrewsKnots4 жыл бұрын
Hi, No probs, so, you reckon these baits worked better that others you tried before? Cheers
@barbelover4 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewsKnots fishing in the same spot, I used to catch max 10 barbels with halibut pellets but today, the first time I used Complex-T boilies, and I caught 14 barbels...I don't know if it's the magical Complex-T or maybe the fact that the water is a bit warmer...but from now, I will use these boilies, not only pellets...

Would the liquid from tinned hemp be good to soak pellets in to flavour them do you think, Andrew? I hate to throw it away when using the dynamite frenzied hemp in tins.
@AndrewsKnots4 жыл бұрын
To soak as in just before use, yes, why not. This is because it's water based (not oil) pellets will soften up and you will have use them up in 12 h. or so. ✌

Hi, I would say go with pair of Drennan Acolyte 12 ft. PLUS. Also, Daiwa Tournament OR Tournament RS ones are very good too. Cheers

indeed full of usefull tips. I'm a little intimidated by Trent when she's up like she is now, do you go out in such conditions and if so how would approach it.
@AndrewsKnots5 жыл бұрын
At the moment Trent is not fishing very well because of lots of cold water. Barbel (and most other species) are in shock and not really moving around. In general, during flood conditions in warmer months fishing for Barbel is the best (at least for me). I would fish using feeders when the water is high. ✌ Cheers

@@AndrewsKnots Thanks for the advice, I don't get a lot of time off but got to the river anyway.... I blanked. Beautiful day though. The positive side is your videos, time for me to have a complete rethink about my approach to angling.
@AndrewsKnots5 жыл бұрын
What makes you think that you are doing something wrong? If it worked in the past, most likely it's good just maybe we need to wait for the conditions to improve 👍 Cheers
@1985bradrushton5 жыл бұрын
Andrew, how much would you feed at the start of a session now the weather is getting colder and we're into winter?
@AndrewsKnots5 жыл бұрын
I would feed only through the feeder during fishing (so, no initial baiting up) ✌ Cheers
@1985bradrushton5 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewsKnots Thanks! I've been catching on the Severn with only pellet and no feed, using only a 5oz weight. How often would you recast with a feeder in winter?
@AndrewsKnots5 жыл бұрын
I would say every 20-30 min. ✌✌
