Just been informed from a club member of the lakes that apps court has become a Club membership Fishery on the lakes fairly recently but there may be a chance of day ticket access to the lakes if you're Camping/Living on site from the Fishery manager Freddie. Thanks Uncal Bert for the input..😁👍

As a kid I used to fish on the island and wade out to the middle of weir. Caught my first double figure carp there on a match rod and 3lb line! Took me an age to get it in the net. Me holding that fish is one of my most treasured childhood pics. But that island is a spooky place I can tell you. Never braved it alone. I returned recently and found the bridge locked. I wondered why. Then I found out that a murder of a fisherman had taken place there. Rather upset me.

Such a shame about the Braindead few mucking it up for the many..👎Glad there's still plenty of lovely people around if you know where to look.. Should be filming & fishing around there in the next couple of weeks. Fingers crossed🤞Thanks for the comment..😊👍

@@MUCKER671 I’ve live in Brighton now and have done since I was 20. I’m 60 now. But when I go back to the area and particularly the Thames Bankside’s, the boyhood memories come flooding back. Your vids help me remember too. One disappointment was revisiting Broadwater lake. As a kid I hauled many an early morning tench to 4.5 lb out of there. No point staying past 10am as it would always die. I also once sat watched, and learned as a guy hauled out bream after bream using bread and float lift method . But when I returned a couple of years ago it looked dead…almost toxic. Whatever happened to it?

It's so sad when you experience things like that, my closest river is the same in places, water extraction, Nitrates and fishing clubs with good intentions but bad ideas.. You would think that the government would help the EA out with more financial support as fishing is still the largest participated sport in the UK and all over the world. So many different problems.. On a lighter note, it makes my day when i here my vids help lovely people like yourself reminisce about the past, I get quite a lot of messages like that which makes everything I do with the free fishing vids much easier. It costs me a packet just to get to the Thames let alone camp etc but i wouldn't change it for the world.. P.s i absolutely love Brighton, great people food & shopping..😊 I take my much better half on her Birthday sometimes and stay in the Hotel in the Marina. Glad you enjoyed the vid and plenty more coming soon. Camping & filming myself fishing the free spots from my Bellyboat on the Thames this Monday for 10 days. It's gonna be a Money where me mouth is moment.. Lovely Jubbly..😊👍🎣

Most anglers don't want to put the effort in getting to those swims! Most will hit the Kings lawn or the island opposite Apps court, I've had many double figured barbel the Apps court side including my biggest Chubb which when to 7lb 2oz. Totally underated stretch of water. 👍👍👍

I’ve walked all the way from Hampton court to those swims and a few others countless times and had lots of good results with big carp and barbel. Not so productive last couple of seasons though. It’s my belief the barbel stay more in the kings lawn area where the all bait goes in.

Hiya fella , hope your well ! I've been watching your videos for a long time now and the knowledge you share is awesome so thank you very much . I understand the time and effort it takes to make these videos . I would like to ask your advice please , I have never really fished the Thames apart from tiddler bashing at Kingston rowing club with my dad a long long time ago , but I have decided to try and target a Thames barble for my channel . I am thinking either Aragon Drive or as I was speaking to someone fishes Sunbury maybe trying there . I've watched this video and got a couple of questions please. How or where can I park if fishing the lock side of the river and not camping , or if fishing the north bank again where would be best to park , also is it possible to fish that lovely looking weir I can see on google earth ? Thanks in advance and keep up the great work ATB 👍 I have just found a comment where you answer these questions lol should have checked 1st to save a lot of typing . Now I just found a comment about Churstey ! Damn I so confused now... lol where would you suggest pls . Cheers
@MUCKER6713 ай бұрын
@@12volt Hi bud, that last bit made me chuckle, liked it alot..😊 First off I'd try Aragon Avenue for free parking or the expensive Hampton Court. (night fishing may be banned at both) at the moment.? As for the access to Sunbury Lock (AppsCourt side) No real access at all other than Apps, maybe able to purchase a Coffee from the Wier Pub just upstream as it has parking but a long ish walk to Apps entrance etc. Not sure but definitely worth asking if you can pay for parking at AppsCourt then drive to the river gated entrance cos ive seen people that aren't camping, parking up & going through the gate over the years. No real access to the Wier from the bank, the nearest you can get really is the Wier runnoff at Kingslawn or close to it at Old Bathing Station Car Park. Wouldn't cast beyond the Moorings at Kingslawn cos some are roped together but It's a cracker of a spot if you can park. There's a car park next to Rivermead Island (North Bank of Apps) near the island access bridge, it's next to the Indian Zest Restaurant, don't think it's public? (worth checking) Personally I'd use the small Rivermead car park just down stream for Island access, just wade across to Rivermead Island, barely a foot deep in these low water conditions, it's the quieter end most of the time as well..😊 King's & Rivermead Vids 5 and 7 in my Playlist. Not sure if I've missed anything Lol..😅 If I have please feel free to ask.. Ohh and thank you for your kind words and loyalty it really is deeply appreciated..! Ps have you seen my latest couple of Bellyboat fishing vids at Chertsey Wier co's I mention another spot 20 meters above the Stansion of the Bridge, had a few from there.. P.s just Subscribed..😊👍

Agreed bud, it can be difficult & frustrating sometimes. The Thames has gone down hill in the last 15yrs or so. Too many drunken litter bugs in certain places. I've been physically threatened & verbally abused 3 times in just one afternoon of filming around the Walton Bridge area. Most people are nice but there's always some that spoil it for the rest of us.. Luckily I'm not the sort of bloke to be pushed by these people.. (i push back).. The Environment Agency seems to be scared of the people I'm talking about, the blatant abuse of the laws around fishing on the Thames is unbelievable..!! Thanks so much for your comment it's really appreciated bud..👍 P.s sorry about the Rant but it's been building up for years..😊👍🎣🐟

Yeah, it should be fun not a case of having to look over your shoulder wondering when the next "EPISODE" will happen. I can only think of one other word that isn't rude for these people "Urchins" I've been making a note of all the different confrontations I've had around the Thames area over the years, and it's from just one section of society, but we're not allowed to talk about that apparently..!!🥴🥴 Every "EPISODE" I've had the pleasure of dealing with is Alcohol and Drug related.. Just wish the Council's, Police and Environment Agency would grow a set and deal with the problem. Dam it, I'm ranting again⚠️😱 Lol..🤣 Thanks for your comment bud, it's most appreciated, as always..😊👍

Have you ever fished near Chertsey bridge any info would be great
@MUCKER6713 жыл бұрын
Hi, definitely one of my favourite spots for barbel and Silvers. If you cross Chertsey Bridge heading East Northeast there's a small car park just over the bridge on the right. Walk upstream across the road towards the lock. There's a grass bank that you can fish from, i would suggest casting a fishy Boilie & hard fishy paste covering bait hook & weight about 10mtr upstream of the second arch of the bridge for Barbel. Silver fishing downstream of the bridge either side of the first left hand bend with maggot feeder & really long hook lengths, 4-6ft sometimes. Both are very short walks to the swims. Hope this helps bud..!😊👍 I'll be posting a vid on that section in the next few weeks hopefully..!

I think you can pay for parking at AppsCourt & park by the access gate to the river in the vid in dry weather. Gate code needed (Best check first though). Access is bad on AppsCourt side. Turn right out of Apps for the closest, there's a lovely long downstream stretch at Shepperton Wier (vid PT11). Just upstream of AppsCourt on the opposite bank is Kingslawn off Thames Street Pt4, Old Bathing Station Car Park off Fordingbridge Rd (PT5) also Thames Street Car Park directly opposite Apps fishing from Rivermead Island, decent walk though. Last ones at the end of Rivermead Island called Rivermead Car Park, small but quicker access if shallow anough to Rivermead Island (Boots/Waiders required) (Vid PT5) I call it Thamesmead Island for some reason in the vid.🤔 Can't think of any other available access close to the AppsCourt side I'm afraid but I hope this helps you in some way bud..😊👍 Even i got confused writing this message. Lol..🥴😂
