Hi Mark, great video as always. Love peg 74 where you were. Fished a match not so long ago in just that peg. Managed just under 60lb only to be thwarted by a very good angler fishing peg 42, who had 71lb on the float. Rowley is such a great stretch, with a fantastic head of fish. I really admire your resolve, after such a long drive being able to up-gear and switch pegs how you do. Hopefully see you again on the bank soon.

@@phillowe5953 Hi Phil, glad you enjoyed it. I always keep an eye out for the match results and see you’re having a good season 👍🏻. Yes 74 has never not produced for me, but I try not to be tempted to drop in there (just trying to learn other pegs). Hopefully see you up on the bank one day soon.

Hi Mark really enjoying your vlogs and honest content. Just wanted your feedback on the Cadence rods I’ve just received the 2.5tc but not used them yet.
@AnAverageAngler2 ай бұрын
@OOOOOOOOSSHH Hi Glen, glad you’re enjoying the Vlogs, and thanks for watching 👍🏻 My rods are the 2lb version. I got them originally as an upgrade to my Korum rods as I wanted something a bit stiffer for when the rivers are running faster/higher, which they do fit the bill for. Ironically I’ve just bought a pair of Drennan Specialist rods as I think they have a bit more of a through action which are more suited to my fishing style. To put that into context I’ve always preferred soft through action rods e.g. in my carp fishing I bought a set of Diawa Infinity DF X45 which most people love but I just couldn’t get on with them (too stiff) so sold them and now have Century C2s which again are a softer more through action rod. It may be when I use the Drennans (planned trip/Vlog in 2 weeks) I find they struggle in flood conditions (hopefully not 🤞🏻). I’m not sure what rivers you’ll be fishing or times of year, but suspect you’re be happy with your choice (I have been using mine for 2 years now). So for the long answer. Lastly if you haven’t watch my Vlog An Evening on the Middle Severn, give that a watch as it shows me playing a fish on the rods and you’ll see what I mean by them not being a through action rod. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppmmfHaVrtJmga8si=RfVe4zFYRVPSculy

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply. I went for 2.5tc for the large, strong flowing rivers like the tidal Trent but I am also a big fan of the Drennan Specialist rods and was very close to adding those to my quiver. Looking forward to your next vlog, tight lines Mark.

Thanks for the video Mark! As always, really enjoyable and can’t help but to be impressed with your determination to get amongst the fish. I’ve never been very good at moving swim, I nearly always take too much stuff and with the early morning drive I’m often so knackered I can’t face moving if I’m not catching. Do you have a time limit in your mind to move swims by? Anyway, keep up the good work and keep posting 👍 Pete
@AnAverageAngler2 ай бұрын
Hi Peter, 1st peg I’ll give 3-4 hours, after that 2 hours a peg and if nothing is happening move on again. I try to go light but take too much stuff TBH 🙄 Hopefully you’ll get up there before the weather turns and have a few 🤞🏻
