This really helped! I was having wrist pain but didn’t think wraps was the right choice as I’m still early in the novice progression. I brought my grip in and started doing a bulldog grip and my wrists are so much better. Excellent videos thank you!

I use false grip heavy on all barbell presses and never came any close to dropping the bar. - people don’t know how to use it. It all comes down to activating your damn thumb properly against your hand. With that said - I noticed the thicker the bar, the harder it is to do it. Thinner Ohio bars work wonderful for it. 28 ish diameter.

With the Bulldog grip you do have more the tendency to flair je elbows out.

Hey I arch my back on wide gripe, close grip should I be flat not sure, have pain arching at close grip

If you have pain, you can certainly reduce the arch. Ensure you're STAYING TIGHT as you touch the bar to the touch point.

but i have a problem that my arms length is like Conor Mcgregor, which mean that they are longer than normal people. So if i dont grab the bar too wide, i dont feel the activation of chest muscles at all.

Do ppl not realize that you should be benching with safety bars about an inch above your fully puffed out chest? Suicide grip is prob the best grip and the safety bars assure you can use it

@Matthew Minogue so what. Just set it one inch above your chest. Plus most people don't actually have to touch their chest on bench press because once your elbow's break Ninety degrees and you get that little bit of extra stretch you don't want to go too far Down because it places all the strain on your shoulder joints that's why people get hurt on bench too

I have a narrow grip and my arms are slightly bent in when I bench. If I go any wider when I am benching in the 500s it causes shoulder pain. I specifically bake the crap out of my triceps for that reason. I wish I could go wider but being 57 years old and benching in the upper 500s I do not think my shoulders could handle it. My thumb tips touch the smooth and I am a 360 pound bencher with wide shoulders and a big back. Any thing you can think of I can try to widen my grip without tearing up my rotators? You can see in this video how narrow my grip is. Most of my videos don't have a good angle on my grip width. Always looking for ways to press more weight. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqbOd4ajfc94ldE

Telling a female to keep their arms/elbows straight is like telling them to not be female 😅 no seriously....females, at least most of them, have naturally hyperextending elbow. 😬
