Holy hell I thought it was a lost cause when it was first wet and he combed the temple over but with the finished product it doesn't even look like he's receding anymore. Wow. I've kind of got the same problem where my forelock hasn't receded at all but my temples and hairline corners have quite a bit. Seems impossible to do anything other than a messy sweeping fringe.
