im singing this on my junior recital and it is SUCH beast. you did a great job...another great one to listen to is leyotene price singing it with Samuel Barber playing... listening to how he wanted it really helped me.

Fun bit of trivia: the text is very closely modeled on one of the oldest surviving texts in an ancient form of the Irish language (c. 8th century CE)

Very nice. Initially it gives the impression of being a catchy little tune, but one is quickly disabused of that by the complex rhythms and syncopations that follow. Plenty of banana skins for the under-rehearsed singer. Good diction in this performance, esp. with the r's.
