You have more restraint than me Dave. I couldn't sleep with a lump of root like that. Having said that, perhaps that's why all my barberrys have died 😂

This is such a unique tree! Love its color as it comes out of dormancy! Maybe some carving and lime sulfure will appease the masses but personally, I am tickled with how it turned out. I don't mind the big chunk of old tree.

Just sent you a bag of polished glass sand size particles, blue, to help with making water. Will not float away & turns dark when wet. 4/7-4/11 arrival.

Just a thought. That big stump on the side, to bad you could not carve it into a pier with a Mud Man sitting on it fishing.

I just this winter got my first three Burberry bonsai trees. I Immediately sold one, collected one and kept one on my my greenhouse. The color when you cut them makes me think it's poisonous if ingested.. all dorf tiny leaves with mostly red and a few green leaves at the base of trunks. I'm wanting to wire but they seem kinda brittle.. the collected tree I'm really hoping makes the transition from Abandoned overgrown lot to bonsai Princess with pretty flowers this growing season. Thanks for the information. You are a man of my own heart because you have just about as many different trees as I do. I tend to collect a lot and even tho I have 99% of all the Species people use for bonsai I don't have one Japanese maple lol..
