I moved the azalea to a new pot by throwing away a lot of the planting medium soil, but all the leaves fell off over time, leaving only a few leaves and the branches dry. Have you ever experienced this and is my azalea still alive?
@DavesBonsai4 күн бұрын
@@Pingkuning I have not experienced that. The few that I had just seemed to slowly get weak and died. One got too cold over wintering it and I think the roots died out. Did you completely bare toot it and repot it or just get rid of some soil?
@Pingkuning4 күн бұрын
@@DavesBonsai In my area, the planting media from the plant shop only uses chopped leaves or rice husks for soil stock, so I replaced the media with standard soil that is often used for bonsai. I cut off the dry branches and left the leaves that are still fresh and active.
@Pingkuning4 күн бұрын
@@DavesBonsai I didn't cut the roots, but I threw away 80% of the soil and I replanted with a better planting medium

Awesome to see you hit up the Krohn Conservatory and got to check out the Ficus benjamina forest I mentioned. Neat place, the first bonsai I saw in person was at the Krohn while I was a volunteer during the butterfly exhibit. Didn't even give bonsai a second thought then, but now I'm hooked!

Hello, my wollow leaf seems to be dying. Its dropping all its leafs, the PH level is good and im watering it often. Its winter here in Australia and gets down to around 5 degrees celcious at night. Do you have any ideas about what to do? Thanks
