I think you are being kind calling them Flippers. I call them what they are: Price Gougers or Scalpers. I feel that they sold out so fast because all the scalpers bought the 3 doll limit with the idea that they will most likely double their money next year when they get the dolls and resell them for next Christmas. The US has become a materialistic country that has only grown by leaps and bounds since I've been alive. Things weren't like that (at least not as bad) 70 years ago. It picked up speed in the 1980's. What it has done is widen the gap between the rich and the poor but they predicted that would widen as time marched on and they were right.

@@Man-wolf- This is true but the word has more than one meaning. I checked the dictionary as to the exact meaning of the word before I posted the comment. I wanted to know if it described just people who sold tickets (to ball games and concerts - the most common use) for inflated prices or if it could include other items like dolls. A lot of the words in the English language have more than one meaning.

My doll display is a MESS right now! My doll clothes are still in boxes because I don't have hanging space. I'm about to make a wardrobe for it all. I had a dress on Addy briefly but it's getting sold because I need to undo some spending damage 🤣

Wouldn't mind a Holiday Barbie AG doll. The 1st Holiday Barbie was pretty iconic, plus it would give them a good reason to introduce an African American Barbie in the form of an American Girl doll like the 1st one with the magenta dress and super fabulous hair...LOVE IT❤😊

Yeah, I had no problem with the doll herself, and it seems natural they would have gone with Barbie Ponytail Number 1, I was just hoping for other Barbie stuff. Like outfits for dolls inspired by Barbie or collector dolls that are Barbie’s more glamorous looks like Peaches and Cream, Superstar, or heck, even Life in the Dreamhouse era Barbie where she is in a pink frilly mini dress - now THAT would make more sense with the crystals! (Dude, could you imagine a companion Wellie Wisher that is Chelsea/Kelly to go along with her???) (Also I would LOVE a Barbie and the Rockers look!)

I live in Canada, and I have a Barbie membership, so the doll was available to go into my cart. However, they don’t ship collector American Girls to Canada. I still don’t know why because I have bought both Barbies and Monster High dolls from Mattel Creations. Looking at the prices on eBay now, I guess it would have been worth paying extra for a freight forwarder. Oh well, I didn’t love the doll that much to make it worth it for me, and I have a rule that I buy every doll for myself first rather than speculation.

Us Canadians always get the short end of the stick when it comes to American girl . Even with the points we still have to pay for our dolls and doll stuff same as everyone else why can’t we get the points to then save a little for the next order . So sad

I am really angry! I am a berry member. I ordered the FAO Schwartz soldier the day it released. My doll was 2788. My friend just bought the doll on sale and she got 153. And it was on sale🤮 I’m disgusted and shocked. I tried to buy the Barbie as soon as I heard about it on the first day, and it was sold out. I will never buy another specialty doll. They do the same thing on Mattel creations with Barbie dolls. It’s frustrating, disappointing and I’m over it. I’m going back to buying the vintage dolls. Someone at Mattel is really screwing up. The frustration the fiasco with Barbie. The movie dolls is making me sick to my stomach. They can keep them. thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them. You have helped me so much with my American girl doll collection of the original dolls. I hope you get more involved in vintage Barbie. That would be awesome. Thanks again great job. Sorry for the rant but I just want to enjoy my love of dolls in my hobby. I don’t want to feel like I’ve been taken advantage of. I’m angry that Matel makes me feel like a fool.

I hope that this means they will make more Barbie x American Girl items because it sold out so quickly. (Ideally “playline” for AG with the 30-…to now 60 ish for outfits).Totally Hair would be such a great doll to reproduce. It was the most popular Barbie, and I heard Julie was the most popular AG for a while because of her long hair? (The nice thing with Totally Hair is there are other versions of Barbie, and also a Ken too, giving everyone long hair.) (also for the *for kids* convo, the doll is 300$ if the parents don’t want their kids to have it… its a limited release 300$ doll, many ways they could justify not buying it lol!)

Thats funny because the Barbie doll at the beginning of the video, even if she is very messy. She is quite rare. She is a pink skin American girl, from europe probably. She is on a standard body because her face his more narrow. She is rare, I guess on ebay presently for her condition maybe she would worth arouns 400usd I think.

Since covid many went up like #3 and #4 ponytails. And some dolls became rarer. I remember before covid it was normal to see #1-2 ponytails on ebay. Since covid the number of 1-2 I saw for selling, can be count on my 5 fingers. And the movie didnt help, I feel now many sellers think all the vintage barbie dolls are worth the same, when its not the case.

I already heard about this doll: an American Girl with the look of a 50's Barbie; it is all a question of tastes, but it is the first A.G. doll which I really don't like. Given that I am not a great admirer of Barbie, I overall never liked her 50's release (I find the modern releases very better); I wish to A.G. company to sell a lot of these dolls, but surely I am not going to purchase her; I prefer a lot more the classic A.G. Characters, as Molly and Samantha (which I have and love) or the last released Lila: they surely are very more cute.
