Hi Jonny, nice to see you are all settled in your new home. I am super excited about this collab. A Barbie American girl is the perfect doll. I think she is adorable and I love her with the classic face sculpt. I wish they had made her without the Swarovski crystals so she would be more authentic and affordable for more people. Called it! So glad my prediction came true. I haven’t decided yet if I will get her or not. I JUST ordered my dream 1987 bubble gum pink Samantha, and she’s my very first PC doll. So this doll just came out just after I decided to make the transition from AG to PC…I also love creating my own characters out of my dolls, so I’m not thrilled by super preset looks if that makes sense. I did hear that more Barbie items are coming from AG so that’s pretty exciting ❤

Yes, they missed an opportunity by not making the box pink, but the graphics on the box interior are nice. I love that she comes with a stand. All the collector dolls should come with a stand.

I love her! My grandma gifted her to me. I’m so excited! She had the first Barbie that came out in 1959 as a little girl so this felt very nostalgic. ❤

Thinking about it, I feel like it's a huge missed opportunity that they didn't make either Chelsea or Stacie, since they're closer to the age range that AG dolls are supposed to be, whereas Barbie herself is supposed to be somewhere in her 20's-30's.

I remember when the movie was released, and I commented about a collaboration between Barbie and AG on your channel. I can't believe they did not do it then! Can you imagine the rush to secure one of those dolls at that time? But let's face it, no matter, she is sooo cool!❤ Actually, they could have given her one of those faux strapless tops that are flesh color mesh. But, it would have to be super well done, or it would look so cheezy! Hope your Barbie arrives for you in perfect condition! I’m all in for Barbie outfits for AG (some could go with each era). I would pay a premium/collector price, and would try to get them all, but idk for me about a full doll (since I just have Kirsten/similar look). Which is fine, I like #1, but I like Black Barbies bc I had Black Barbies in mid 80s and dreamed that I would look like her...came pretty close at prom and my wedding...now I'm just Black Barbie Gap these days. 😂 We will see if she is an early New Years gift come winter of 2024 or whenever. I would absolutly love to have a Barbie American Girl but my storage is full and Christmas is just around the corner so if there is any left on Wednesday when I get paid then I might but getting the limited edition dolls to Canada can cost over $100 and the custom fees are a big ouch. I've bought two disney dolls and the Christmas one this year and I spent well over $1000 on the diisney ones alone. The quality just isn't really worth it... Even though come Wednesday I'll probably still get her XD

This doll weirds me out. Like you mentioned, AG dolls are supposed to be 9-year-old girls and she's being dressed up like an adult with sexy makeup, hair, and clothing. Granted, she's a doll not an actual child and maybe I should just calm down lol. But, this doll is just giving me creepy Lolita vibes. I love the idea of an AG - Barbie collab, but why not copy another, less sexy Barbie look? I think Totally Hair Barbie could work for this or even Margot Robbie's pink gingham dress look. I'm just not sure about this doll, personally.

I don't think anything is inherently "sexy" about this doll and I think maybe a better word would be grown up. Barbie means to portray a adult woman, so in translation the American girl doll emulating her looks like a strange line between adult and child. Although I think maybe its charming and honesty thibk maybe it worth evaluating why it weirds you out. I think it looks more like a little girl playing dress up.

Yeah, I do feel like this is the most likely to sell out, out of all the American Girl Collector Dolls. Flippers are a much bigger problem in the Barbie and fashion doll world than the American Girl world. Fingers crossed there aren't too many issues!

Tomorrow is early acess to barbie members on mattel creations and ag rewards berry members so if you are one of those you should have a good chance getting the doll tomorrow if you have to wait until general release the chances of getting the doll are lower because anyone can buy at that point though mattel does limit to three per household. Scalpers may buy from both sites and get up to 6 dolls per household if they are clever enough to do so hopefully not but that's the most I think anyone could buy.

I'm completely obsessed with her 🤩 I've bought a few Barbie movie outfits from a seller on Etsy and now I need the doll to wear them! I really love her look too. I love the eyeshadow, the nail polish, and those curly poodle bangs 🤩 The accessories are amazing too, I love the wrist tag and the little magazine. I think the price is justified in this case as opposed to the other LE dolls!

I was so excited to hear about the Barbie collab until I looked on the American girl website. I was hoping to see a black Barbie too but she wasn’t there. I would have gotten one for my daughter. And I love Barbie but I’m not going to lie they really missed the mark on inclusion and I was just starting to become an American girl fan but this really has me thinking.
