When Mattel did away with names and unique personalities and made everyone "Barbie", they also took the heart and soul out of Barbie. I want Barbie, Midge, Kira, Kayla, Christie, Teresa, Raquelle, Summer. It's so much more interesting to have a line of characters rather than a line of dolls all named Barbie.

Was watching this and thought - let me go to my Target here in Napa and see if they have her - I thought that surely there's not that many doll collectors out here. And...they had her! Whooot! So excited! Thanks for the inspo! I did exactly what you said - I took a screen shot. When I looked on the shelf I didn't see any Barbie Style dolls so I casually walked over to the electronics and asked in a very chill way if the kid would look up a upc code for me and he was happy to and went to the back and got her for me. So thanks for that tip because I would never have thought to ask them if they had her in the back. 🤩🤩🤩

I'm old. She looks exactly like Quick Curl Kelly I had in the 70's. I love that head mold. She was always one of my favorites ! She's beautiful!

The Steffie face is my favorite head mold next to Mackie, Tori, and Superstar! I also miss the days where the Barbie line had characters and personalities. Like I miss Midge, Christie, PJ, Teresa, Kira, Lea, Summer, Allan, Steven, and even Blaine! If only we could get a more character focused line to take the place of Fashionistas as the "mid-grade"/"main" line and downgrade Fashionistas to the budget line that it truly is. The Fashionistas can be Barbie's models if they would go back to her being a fashion designer/model.

She is so pretty. I’m happy that you were able to get her. My city only has one Target and they are re-organizing the store so things are kind of crazy in there right now. I asked the young lady in electronics if she would look it up for me and she did and she couldn’t get anything to come up. There is another Target thirty minutes away from me but I’m not chasing all over the state of Texas to find one. I don’t understand what kind of game Mattel is playing.

DBG Never misses, always on point. But yeah its a shame that good quality is now on the terms of a "special release" and not the standard. I think someone would make a killing providing high quality products for a fair price. Especially considering most toys are either overpriced, or if they're cheap, they feel cheap and are obviously designed to rake in the most amount of profit possible. Great video!

I live in the ucf area of Orlando and I called all the Orlando Targets on the 2nd of January and they were all sold out. I was like you and other Orlando collectors must have got them all 😅. I was thankfully visiting my parents in Palm Bay and they had 1 there. I called around after I found her to get one for a friend and the closest one was in Port St Lucie. Anyways I'm glad you were able to find her and she is a beautiful doll I hope they continue to bring back older face molds

MGA did this same crap with Poppy from Rainbow High. The Fantastic Fashion doll couldn't be found for quite a while. Then Targets were only getting a couple dolls at a time. Now they don't have that character anymore. It's like they're incahoots with scalpers.

She’s beautiful! 😍 I’m so disappointed in Mattel for releasing her rare this way and I despise scalpers. 😐 I do have the Life in the Dreamhouse Midge, which I was gifted 🥰 Someone in a doll group I’m in was doing some head shrinking by soaking the head in a mixture of acetone and water (without ruining the face paint). I’d be so nervous to ruin my doll but it would be nice if her head was a tad smaller. I’m in Canada so unless Mattel releases this Midge (why do they have to name every doll “Barbie”??!) on a larger scale I probably won’t be able to get her.

I love this doll but I'm afraid I will never be able to get her because she's likely a Target Exclusive (however I'm not 100% certain). She should have been either a 5th doll in the main series alongside Millie/Barbie and with her own outfit or a "Deluxe Mix and Match" doll who comes with a second outfit so she will be widely available yet still special.

From what I've gathered Kanekalon can become carcinogenic if exposed to high heat so Mattel likely did away with it for lawsuit reasons, but its probably just more expensive than what they use now

It’s sad flippers ruin everything, I don’t think it’s even possible to get her reasonably in Canada at a store since we don’t have Target here. Alas! My prediction for 2025 wasn’t a play line Midge paying people’s rent, but here we are. 😅

American and Target exclusive...so tired of collecting due to this and the scalpers and excessive buyers. So many people are leaving the hobby because of that alone not to mention the ridiculous prices.😢😢😢
