4:50 Literally had totally forgotten about them until I saw this part, but Barbie used to have swappable heads, too. They were called Barbie Swappin' Styles, and they were released sometime in the early 2010's. The neck and shoulders fit into a slot on the doll, and they could be released and changed out. I'm sure Mattel could do something similar (or better) with their Made to Move dolls. Or even better, a "build your own" doll, where you pick the body type, skin tone, face sculpt, hair color, hand poses, etc. I know it would probably have to be more expensive than a standard doll, since they couldn't be mass produced, but I like the idea of a totally customizable doll.

Went to Wal*Mart the other day, and the Disney Doorables has the Disney Villains series out now, along with the Nightmare Before Christmas! In case you need doll sized figures for Halloween decorations or a themed doll room! ^^ Oh yeah, and they also have the OMG Dolls with hair that changes colors in the sun! It has SunShine in the name, but I forgot the full name of the set, but the hair colors are beautiful. There's also the Disney Princesses from Mattel, and the World's Smallest collectibles. There's no info on what series it is, but it's the one with the little stress ball as one of the items in the blind boxes. Oh, and if you're lucky enough and got the Elvira Monster High Skullector doll, then I think the Lady of Horror deserves a special DIY doll room just for her!

The made to move knees are such a weird choice to me. Cause what it's telling me is that the mtm joints are cheap enough that it's more cost effective to add them to save space and packaging. So it really can't be that much more to make them, and yet.

I love the shadowbox idea! I am short of storage space, so hanging the boxes on the wall gives me a craft to do, plus it's a safe space to store and display the dolls! I know you like to swap heads as you prefer the MTM bodies. I have bought several from Amazon. I now have 4 blondes all with different skin tones! I can't catch a break... got any ideas?

I wonder if it is possible to do a leg swap to give a Barbie Extra the mtm legs. That way you would be able to get articulated wrists and a body without molded on clothes. But I guess it is cheaper to just get a mtm body, at least in the US. Here in Europe, mtm is not cheap.
