I love specifically doll shows! I went to a toy show that had very few Barbie’s and it was disappointing. I went to a doll show and there were some Barbie’s but mostly vintage baby doll types, then I went to a specifically fashion doll show and it was the best one nothing can top it, mostly Barbie and all the other modern and collector fashion dolls you can think of!

I've been to two doll shows in San Diego and they had everything from frozen Charlottes to the latest Monster High Wednesday doll. It wasn't a huge show, but definitely came home with some bargains both times! I know what you mean about feeling strange at first. I heard L.A. has some big fashion doll only shows but I haven't ventured there yet. Thanks for sharing!

I belong to the UFDC in FL and we put on a show once a year. It mostly consists of antique dolls which I can't afford but I do get an education. Seeing them in real life is something else. I go for more modern types like Blythe, American Girl and there is a few vintage and Barbies on my list but never seem to find. I could probably get them on ebay but I enjoy doll shows soooo much more!

Fun show 👍 I've only been to 1 doll show years ago it was a small one in my area & I absolutely loved it! They had all kinds of dolls:vintage, porcelain, Barbies, big dolls, little dolls etc. 😎 I've never seen those jazz dolls, she's beautiful & the bonus one too 😍 That's so cool that she came with a chair 😃 I don't have any Gene dolls but I do have a Robert Tonner Wonder Woman doll that's about 16" tall 😊

Lovely dolls. It was nice to see the toy show. I went to the Paris Fashion dolls show twice. This year and the year before. It does not seem that big but believe me, there are enough temptations! There were reborns dolls, quite a few (not for me!), vintage Barbie dolls and outfits (out of my price range lol!), Collectors and many types of Barbie dolls, a few Bratz but not many, Tonner dolls (price issue again, ooops!!, IT Fashion Royalty dolls (out of my price range...) and some Gene dolls (not as many as in your video!). It is just amazing to see all these dolls in real life. Some of them I only see photographed on Flickr. There were also a few artists hand made teddy bears (I have a soft spot for bears🐻 🐻‍❄), some bjds, hand made outfits for Barbie (some are amazing) etc... The first time I went I bought a Begoths doll, a Barbie outfit and a lil' Bratz still in her packaging. None of them were very expensive. I had a great deal on the Begoths doll at the end of the show because nobody bought it and the seller offered me a lower price without me asking. The second time, I only bought a Gene doll. There were several. I chose that one because I love the black dress she is wearing. I noticed Gene dolls are not very expensive compared to others. I hope I will be able to go there next year.

Wow! I’ve never seen many of those dolls in the wild either, esp IT dolls! I should’ve looked for BeGoths, would’ve loved to find one. You’re right, Gene dolls are very affordable. Maybe someday I’ll travel to Paris to attend a doll show! 🤩 (I can dream 😉)

@kadawalden You got an incredible deal on Bon Voyage. Dressed dolls were $90+ when they came out 25 years ago! They just made too many... 5000 was the standard edition size back then. So many of the Ashton Drake dolls have gone down in price since release. However, the Jason Wu/Integrity Toys editions of Gene and friends have gone up in value. They were issued in much smaller edition sizes and also, Wu became famous in the years afterwards, attracting a new consumer base. My Wrap Party Zita is one of only 200 dolls and sells for 3-4x her original price. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk!

Hey Kada! I actually went to a doll show today! It was an absolute blast, and I'm glad to hear you got to go to a toy show last weekend! And funnily enough I actually purchased a Gene doll too! I went to the Atlanta Doll Collector's show in GA. They had a nice mixture of dolls, baby dolls, Barbie, Gene, Madame Alexander, and so many more different kinds of dolls! I didn't have a chance to vlog at the show, but I did film a haul video. Definitely keep going to doll and toy shows, they are the best, and it's so nice to be with other toy collecting people! Fun video!

Kada! It looks like you had so much fun! I would love to see you at a doll show someday. Do you ever think about going to the National Convention? I am fortunate to live near Bradley Justice Yarbrough. He hosts pop up events at a local antique mall a few times a year. He brings a plethora of dolls, vintage and modern, as well as fashions and accessories. He also has a weekend event with about 100 attendees with programs and shopping and activities. It is so much fun! Last week I finally scored a Silkstone Fashion Editor on eBay. She should be arriving today! I’m giddy with excitement to add her to my redhead collection.
