Barbora Krejcikova Finally Speaks out On "FOREHEAD" REMARKS, Journalist Suspended !!

Did You know that Barbora Krejcikova was recently body-shamed during a major tournament in Riyadh?? During the Tennis Channel’s broadcast, journalist Jon Wertheim, seemingly unaware that he was on air, made a comment about Krejcikova’s forehead. This remark quickly drew criticism on social media. Wertheim later clarified the situation, explaining that he had joined the broadcast via Zoom. During rehearsal, a graphic displayed an image of a player-Krejcikova-at an angle that exaggerated her forehead. Shortly after, Wertheim was asked to adjust his Zoom framing, and he joked that his own low camera angle made his forehead look similar to the player’s. A control room member chimed in, and Wertheim responded lightheartedly. Although this was meant to be a private rehearsal, the exchange accidentally aired live, without the full context. After the match Barbora Krejcikova quickly responded to the comments on X, pointing out that this isn’t the first time women have faced body shaming in sports. While she has often chosen to stay silent, Barbora now feels it’s important to address the need for respect and professionalism in sports media. She shared that these remarks are not new to her, and at 28, she has decided it’s time to speak out against such behavior.

It wasnt intended to shame her or even be heard by her. Many of the highest earning female athletes (esp tennis) get the most money from their looks. Making a big deal of this, and magnifying the double standard just makes me think less of female athletes.
