Despite this loss, I am so excited for Alycia Parks. Her strokes are so sound and she's an incredible athlete. Once she finds consistency she will easily be a mainstay in the Top10 if not Top5. Alycia looked a bit tired in this match after that first set so maybe being 135 in the world, she needs to get used to playing deeper into tournaments. Outside of Kvitova, no other player makes me want to match out of any player in the past 5 years.

Parks is just going through what every breakthrough playing on the womens side is face, Serena left a legacy where power and service placement have to be the basics to win a masters but shes got it down so now she has to find her style that will beat others with that same base....love her game so far and you dont have to give me many reason to support another black woman on tour. @willybeama12 жыл бұрын
I saw her other matches. She is definitely more than one trick. Her angles, depth of shot, and serve are already quite good. Her returns are good but need more work. She could also use more spins. I would say, for a power player, she has pretty good defense and good bet skills. She isn’t afraid to come to net. She does however need to find better strategies when coming to net and controlling the baseline. A solid week for her. We will see. I don’t really see the Serena comparisons everyone seems to be talking about because Serena hit heavy shots. Park’s hits fast shots powerful shots but they aren’t as heavy. Serena’s defense, especially in her prime, were far superior to Parks. But she is young and clearly hungry. I’m interested in seeing her trajectory.

Both played well and Parks deserves credit for her achievements in this tournament. Krejcikova won this match, but Parks wasn't easy opponent for her at all. Krejcikova had to use all of her experience to win this match. This match was great to watch and Krejcikova's experience triumphed over Park's youth. I wanted Parks to win this match, but I am still happy that Krejcikova won. Despite Krejcikova unfairly winning Tallinn Open last week (she took obviously fake MTO in her Semi-Final match against Bencic) I still love Krejcikova as an athlete. Barbora Krejcikova despite her questionable sportsmanship and gamesmanship conduct is very friendly tennis player and is one of my favorite female tennis players. Alycia Parks played great, but in the end she was too fatigued too keep up with Krejcikova's pace for long. Alycia Parks needs to improve her serve, receiving and athleticism. Overall I see Parks as a top 3 or maybe even world #1 material. She could rival even Swiatek if she will improve those parts which I mentioned before.
