I"m glad Barca clearly conveyed that we won't wait for his next season. It would be just like the Griezmann saga where he rejected us in humiliating fashion and we went for him the following year for more money. Why did we let go of the Xavi Simons loan deal? he can play in all the forward positions and even as a 10 if need be, he is definitely more of a goal scoring threat than Dani Olmo and even more creative. If Nico doesn't join barca which is 99 % sure then he successfully has ruined the entire transfer window for barca . We could have pushed the deal for luis diaz while waiting on our arse for his final OK .... Well it's not Nico Williams'mistake he just wants confirmation from Barca management that they will add him in 25 players squad. which is not possible without selling one of our first team player so even if we sign nico he can't play for us.

If you see Raphina as an alternate #9 is not a bad option. He can play the wings and the centre. Remember against PSG he was the farthest of all players in a 9 position and scored in both games. If Nico doesn’t come, Olmo (Pedri, Gavi, Fermin can play behind Raphina and can create at great team. As for the left, let’s try out Vitor, Balde/Faye (Depending on the setup). Let’s look for solutions instead of crying over our little transfer budget. We are still a bit raw, but the talent is surely there.
