I feel like if we go after Kimmich we would have to change our formation as we can't seem to get a proper single pivot. So if we do get Kimmich to formation on the cards would be a 4-2-1-3. Kimmich and Gundo would be the double pivot and since Gundo is good going forward we can have him a segundo volante(my FM people). and since we have Gavi coming back as well as Nico Gonzales, they can interchange. Pedri would be the main threat going forward and you can also play Gundo and Gavi in that position. This can also help De Jong as well if he stays. A mid field of Kimmich and De Jong as double pivot and Pedri going forward would be awesome. It also gives more security to the defense as well but i would prefer Balde start on the Left. I like Cancelo but he's too much of a liability. Not even guaranteed to stay. but let's see what happens.

I think Xavi wants to keep the flak off the players to keep their morale up because the team IS going through really bad times, and if he starts highlighting the players negatively in the media it doesn't really help anything anyway. I think Messinho is far better than Yamal . Barca already missed out talents like Vini and Rodrigo and they are world class now and now same situation with Messinho. The two young players playing time can be shstef equally thus giving the still developing bodies adequit rest.
