Very Informative. Thank You. We recently started a warehouse but we do not have a system in place yet. I was thinking using the process you mentioned but I have one concern. Quick books is used by the accounting manager in the office but the warehouse is in a different location. How do I get the system set up and to communicate taking into account the distance? When we receive material to the warehouse how will I scan the codes and have it communicate with QuickBooks. Same for retrieving the items and sending them to a different location.

I think QB would need to be hosted (with a cloud service like RightNetworks) and as long as there is internet in both sides, you should be fine

We are trying to get setup with barcode scanning and found yet another downfall. Wondering about quickbooks serial # tracking of assemblies when you have multiple serial numbers of individual parts to that assembly but your ordering the assembly from the vendor. So when we put a order in PO and scan it in we scan the inventory item and it lets us scan multiple serial numbers but it doesn't like that because it thinks 1 serial for 1 item and you can put it into the note area but when we go to pick and ship it only allow 1 serial per 1 item and no note ability for barcode scanning warehouse user. Is there a way if you bought a assembly from a vendor to break apart that assembly to sell the parts separately?

Hello Hector! I'm so glad I found your video's & I appreciate the vast amount of information you pass along. Thank you!! Could you tell me how to delete or edit a quickbooks generated barcode? I am using enterprise solutions 19 edition. I was in the process of setting up a bar code scanner and I must've done something wrong. Quickbooks generated a barcode for every item I have in inventory (which is alot) when I open a item up in the list then remove the entry in the barcode field then save. It appears to be gone but when I click on it again, quickbooks adds a barcode number in the field again. How do I remove all of the barcodes?

Great video! In the beggining you show the zebra scanner and the USB. Are these one or the other or combined? Boss is asking if there's a generic brand scanner that's compatible with Quickbooks enterprise desktop

Two separate things. USB is a generic scanner as cheap as $20-30 in amazon. Zebra is a whole other thing $650+ phone

Hello, Have you posted the video on mobile scanners? If so, where can I find it? Does the mobile scanner have the capability of scanning into the QB barcode custom field or can I only do this with a usb barcode scanner?

The USB scanner is the only one that can scan into QuickBooks. The wireless/android scanner works only with the built-in app

Hi Hector, I have QB Enterprise Platinum and a TC21 scanner, and when we want to receive a purchase order with TC21 scanner it is not increasing number of items when we scan the barcode. We have to increase number of items manually; how can I fix this? We would like to scan the barcode and have it increasing number of items. Thanks

Bins themselves dont have barcodes in QB, you chose then from the dropdown menu.

Since turning on the barcode feature, QB seems to be having some bugs - sticky keys, inverted typing (caps instead of lowercase, vice versa, symbols instead of numbers), not allowing me to tab or click and write in description field. I know for a fact it has to do with turning on this feature because it goes away once I disable barcode scanners function. I have tried to trouble shoot this with QB with no avail. Do you have any experience with this or know how I may fix it?
