The way her partner speaks in “we” instead of “I” when talking about the past just proves that he loves her and felt the pain and trauma she experienced when she completely lost her sight.

Thank you, Lucy, and wow! You are so brave and fierce! I can't imagine knowing for all those years that you were going blind. How did you handle it? My life changed in a matter of seconds. A texting teen made a left turn into the path of my car. I was going 55mph/88kph. Fortunately, the teen was unhurt, but I was seriously injured. In that instant, the life I thought I was supposed to have was over. I had been a high functioning financial executive livin' the dream. But, I woke up irreparably damaged -- wheelchair dependent, with a brain unable to do single digit addition. I've been living my new normal for ten years, and honestly, I've never been happier. That accident was a gift. I had enjoyed being a gracious benefactor, but my new role was to be a beneficiary with grace. It felt like a sort of death. Thank God, I finally came to a place of gratitude. That was the key to finding compassion for myself. I had to release who I thought I *was* in order to embrace and learn to love who I *am*. My body and brain have improved over the years. And, I've created efficient workarounds and developed systems to compensate. Thankfully, I've learned how to live with debilitating pain. My greatest challenge has been learning self-compassion. I still believe that accident was a gift. And, my new life is a joy!

Love this! You are truly an inspiration to all by rising above your situation and not letting it stop you from living your best life! My father went 100% blind in his mid 20’s due to type 1 diabetes, he knew it would happen but I don’t think you can ever truly prepare yourself for something so life changing. Like yourself he decided to not let it stop him and he became a massage therapist and truly was one of the best. He taught us that you can achieve anything you want in life by setting goals and working hard and it was an amazing life lesson to learn when you are young. My siblings and I all took what we learned and worked hard and achieved all of our life goals. I bought my first house at 21 and made 100k in equity within 5 years all while working my way up to be the youngest and most successful sales executive in my field. Although my Dad passed away when I was 21 he was very proud of all of our accomplishments and died a happy Dad. I hope she continues to pursue her dream and has much success in life both professionally and personally!

I’ve never seen anyone with no sight do makeup though as my mom didn’t wear makeup but this is absolutely amazing! You keep on being strong and positive sweetheart!

That was one hurdle you had to go through. Life puts you thru challenges we have no choice in. We have to fight and be positive and jump over that hurdle. I had breast cancer in 2016 and it was a shock when I found out I had cancer. My whole life changed and I fought. And yes like you said, you have your blind days which is okay. So many people said you are strong and you can do this! So when I felt weak, I felt guilty. Slowly I began to learn, that it's OK to not be strong always. It's okay to feel weak. A huge high five to you and you look BEAUTIFUL AND AWESOME!!💕💕💕💕✋

I would hate to hear that my boyfriend is a good person, but Ollie is. It shines through and a lot of people would have caved under the pressure of being with a person who's going blind. I truly appreciate the fact that you embrace the truth of having a bad day. So many people think they are supposed to be ON all the time, and everything is perfect. Remember the social media “influencers” take dozens of pictures in an effort to get the best one to post. They didn’t wake up looking like that, they woke up with morning breath, messy hair, had to pee and poo before trying on 6 different outfits just to try and impress a bunch of people they A) don’t care about, B) don’t know, and never will, and C) they aren’t looking for YOUR approval, they’re looking for your “like”. It’s an empty life with no pay off because guess what, there are 1,000 new people willing to compete for your attention every single day.

Iv raised a guide dog twice and it is really really hard work, but worth it to see how the dog can help people. But the thing is that when the dog retires the guide dog company offers you to adopt the dog you trained from 7 weeks old to 1 years to have a happy retirement and a long due rest. Lol. but if anyone wants to raise a guide dog it really really is a great opportunity to give back, and to know that you trained that dog to help someone. Also it is amazing how these dogs are trained and what they can do. I could sit at the training classes all day just to listen to the trainers talk. 👍😁 I wish her and olg I think that’s what her guide dog is called the best in the future. ❤️🌹
