INGA, 23, was born with upper limb aplasia, at the moment she is a student of Philosophy & Criminal Justice at the University of Pittsburgh .She has learned to live with no arms and does everything with her feet, from eating to putting on makeup and even playing the cello with her toes. Today we see Inga go on her first blind date with Dustin who is also on his first ever blind date. Will the two hit it off and will sparks fly?

You should not be ashamed. I have disabled family members and it can be very exhausting for everyone. And I know that I want to hold hands, getting stroked etc. You have to give up on many things. If you don't want that: it's YOUR life and it's absolutely fine. I think the woman in this video is very, very attractive. But I would pass regarding a relationship because I'm just too lazy for problems. I prefer it easy and somewhat boring. Other than that...it could have some advantages. You don't have to do the boulder crap with her, what all young women seem to like nowadays. No. Really. I'm serious.

Oh wow - cancer. I have a couple of friends that have been diagnosed in the last year or two and are fighting it, and still holding on (we're all in our later 30s, though, as opposed to mid-20s). My father passed away from cancer, also in his mid-30s when I was a little kid, as well. Here's hoping she makes it - the good news is that survival rates have improved a great deal, since he passed away in the 90s, to the point that some can easily be survived even in Stage 4.

She seems very nice and I wouldn't personally have any qualms about dating a woman with no arms, but "taking issue with" is a very broad phrasing. I could see why men wouldn't want to date her as she said she feels guilty about needing help with things, I would imagine she needs help with more things than initially come to mind. For example, can she wipe her own bottom, or am I gonna be doing that for her? Does she make her own food? Does she drive? Does she use a phone? Does she use a tampon/sanitary towels and am I gonna have to help her use those? Can she feed the kids, change the kids diapers, can she help the kids take a bath or am I the one responsible for all of that, every time? There are loads of good questions to be raised, and these are just ones I first thought of.

She's legitimately quite attractive - and I say that as a guy that doesn't do too bad with dating: that's no brag, as all it really takes to do that is be in shape, and be able to hold a conversation without needing to get wasted (I've actually been sober a couple years at this point). I'd for sure give going out with her a shot if she was interested and I was single. My first serious girlfriend had flare ups of pretty bad acne on her cheeks sometimes, and could tell she was quite insecure about it, but she was absolutely beautiful (to me, anyways, and so it doesn't matter what others think). I understood that, because I grew up really poor after my dad died, with a single mom, and had just about the worst possible adult teeth a person could have - like, just totally disfigured - and didn't get them fixed until my mid-20s. Anyway, she eventually both found a treatment that worked which didn't mess her hormones/mind up, and also just kind of outgrew it, and it's nothing like completely missing both arms - but people are all too willing to reject genuinely amazing people, because of some minor flaw(s).

Were I thirty years younger, I wouldn't hesitate to date this lovely young woman. I lost my lower limbs thru' combat, many years ago. Personally, I see no loss - but then I have been a Trauma Physician for four decades, & not unlike the young man sat opposite Inga (Dustin), I look past the physical loss. If you wish to witness true courage, determination & tenacity, then look no further - Inga possesses same in bucket loads 🙂

I think your advice is spot on and I imagine because you’ve live through it yourself. The only thing I would think is practically the limitations however equally from a practical perspective, if you were with someone like this young lady, it would still be a normal life for want of a better word because you would understand each other and you with a problems and who would lower limbs mean that together you can face, not just life‘s mental challenges, but The physical challenges that get thrown at us

One of the greatest friends that I have ever had in my life, lost both his arms at the shoulders in an accident when he was twelve. We became friends when we were both in our early fifties, and were very close for around fifteen years or so, until he so sadly passed away. He was a renowned artist that painted with a brush held in his mouth, and always a very upbeat and fun guy to be with. His first wife passed away and he raised two young children on his own. A lovely and generous spirited woman eventually became his second wife. We shared many a meal and if we went out for a drink, I was pleased to hold the glass of beer or whatever to his lips when he wanted to take a sip. He was just a wonderful man on all fronts and his friendship was a precious gift to me that I will always cherish, and I miss him dearly. How he was able to overcome the adversity he faced after his accident, his efforts to achieve strength and independence, his creative accomplishments, is a tale of courage and perseverance that has meaning for everyone.

Thanks for your kindly reply. Yes, we were brothers. His accomplishments and personality were such that it was clear to me that he was a regular guy that had achieved a basically normal life by overcoming the severe hardship that he had experienced when young. Out of respect I felt protective of him, like if we went out and I saw someone staring at him, my friend was used to it, but I didn't like it, and I would tell that person with my stare back that they were being rude. People that he associated with through his work or whatever, treated him with great reverence, a good thing, but sometimes they were so delicate and adoring, that after I would say to him, man you are a big star, why do you want to associate with such a commoner like me! He would say, "You are lucky", and I might give him a slight jab in the ribs and we would laugh. When Minami passed away, my being a furniture maker, with stained glass and beautiful walnut wood, I made the alter that his wife keeps in her house to honor his memory. Lovely lady, my name is Dennis, and I am honored to be your friend in Japan now too.

She is very mentally healthy, and quite a bright person as well. I could get into talking with her for a long time and maybe something else would develop over that time. Being armless is not her fault, and she's very good at disarming anybody that would be cruel to her.

This was wonderful, the chemistry, the smiles, the humor, the directness without looking like it was uncomfortable, they looked great together. I found myself smiling the whole time and hoping they did go out again and that it continued the same way for both. He seemed genuine. Mind you, this is from a short video, probably majorly edited, but I really do hope they found something there.

@@user-hn8to6ck8x There are lots of ways for deaf people to enjoy videos. For example, many use closed captions and lipread, or they could use another online service that can translate words into text. Also, many deaf people can hear some things.

@@carolinehabel as long as they dont use youtube's God awful Auto translate xD Then they will get a very different and confusing videos then the rest of us. It amazes me at how good Siri and other voice recognizing software has gotten so good, and yet a big company as youtube is stuck in traffic...

She is gorgeous. I actually think its more of a conversation starter than it is of something that is to be concerned about. The fact that she can do everything with her legs, would be more than sufficient. Plenty of people go through life living day to day without even getting in to a relationship at all or doing anything but sitting at home watching tv all day, and they have arms, at least she is getting out there.

I'll tell ya... I see someone like Inga who is determined to make her way through life despite a significant disability, and I think "How many times have I complained or whined because I've encountered a major obstacle or letdown?". Inga inspires me, and also makes me say to myself "Suck it up, and deal with it".

I'm so amazed by her confidence and her charism despite her condition... As a person who has to struggle with social anxiety it really give me a boost and makes me see my «condition» in an another perspective that makes me released that «f*ck what people thinks»...She's pure inspiration, God bless her.

Agreed. Whole lot of pain, depression and demons to battle in general from losing them. Not saying that being born w/o arms does not come with its share of demons but you come to accept your situation much more readily.

I like that she's just a normal person, acts and speaks like a normal person and doesn't let her disability hold her back. I admit I was curious about when she went to the restroom but I guess she had someone to assist with that. That must be one of the more challenging areas of her life when it comes to privacy for things that can't be done without support, but at the same time as it is all she has ever known it probably doesn't bother her at all

Her confidence and acceptance of what her capabilities are and aren't are what makes her so strong. Right off the bat, "Hi, can I give you a hug." Priceless! Knowing she has no arms doesn't stop her from showing affection for her date. Being born with an affliction is different than, for example, had she lost her arms later in life because of an accident. She never had them so she doesn't know the difference. Her life is as normal as everyone else's, just different. Love her attitude, personality and fabulous outlook. All positive. I hope her and Dustin see more of each other. First date was quite chill and satisfying.

I had a friend in college who was born with the same condition. Like Inga, she was cute and fun to be around. It was amazing to see what she could do using just her feet, and it was actually a great experience to be with her. This was a great segment, and now I am subscribing. 🙂
