Once when I was in the hospital, they were dicussing either wheelchair or walker one week. Wowed them all when I did fast laps around the gym, did stairs, walked around the outdoor patio. Was using a walker for a wk. Did lots of exercise around the house. Now Im soo much better. Now I see my drs every 6 mons to a yr.

Just because she has to have this halo doesn't make her ugly or worthless. She is right God put her on this earth to show that even in the physical state she is in she is beautiful and full of life. I was a volunteer at a rehab hospital school and there was a boy who had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and unfortunately he passed away at age 13, which was normal for this disease. Steffni, keep on shining you are a real inspiration to even those who don't have such a severe disability. I have lived with epilepsy for 65 years and it is very controlled with medication, but people don't see it and don't realize that I have my challenges every day too. Just in a different way. "It's just a bad day, not a bad life." That is so meaningful for me to hear right now. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease a few months ago, and have been coming to terms with it, knowing that chronic pain is just going to be part of my life, and knowing that even with medication, it tends to get worse over time. I've had plenty of bad days since then, especially when the first med I tried didn't work very well and had unpleasant side effects, so it's been a huge mental adjustment in terms of what I can expect for quality of life, especially in the future. It's been hard not to look down the road, and think, even if this new med works, it will probably stop working at some point and then I'll have to start all over again, and wondering what my mobility will look like as I get older. I try to remind myself not to dwell on what might happen, but just to work with what I have today, even if I feel frustrated by pain limiting what I can do. So anyway, you did inspire one person! I'm going to remember your words, and focus on having a good life, even if I have bad days.

I'm now 45 yrs old and it has given me nothing but problems over the years but I keep going! Live your best life sweetie! Keep going!
