I actually really dig the first family - they're not hurting the kids - they all seem well fed and happy. The food is gorgeous. They're still learning and growing in homeschool. Plus they get the added experience of the farm and responsibility. I think it's great!

I guess we are so use to what we know(city life, regular school, daycare, screens...) and think that is the best anybody could have...

If you choose to home school, you still have to comply with the rules set out by the place you live in. I live in New Zealand. The same place that makes sure schools are providing a proper education to their student, assesses the education of kids who are home schooled. I was a bit scared that i would not be able to teach my son but now, i'm surprised with the results! My weekly planning follow the regulation of our education ministry. The insane thing is for that first family that is literally how every single person on Earth used to live if they wanted to survive. They are not receiving a proper education. Their parents are stifling them into a corner where the kids will have no option but to stay because they won’t have the social or educational skills to function in the outside world. They may not even be getting proper nutrition. I looked up these people and their kids are always sooo hungry, their clothes are always dirty and they don’t look like they bath or practice any other hygiene on the regular. The adult content one I don't really think she should be involving her 14 year old sister at all but I guess it also depends on what exactly she's having the young lady photograph. If it's not anything explicit or inappropriate then I guess there's not really an issue. I totally get being a single mom and wanting to make a better life for your kids and honestly if she was making less than $3,000 a month at her 9 to 5 job you can't support yourself and for children on that. You just can't. I make like $5,600 a month and I only have one kid and I feel like we're just barely getting by a lot of the time. Craps expensive out there even just to live minimally. I do think her friend has no room to judge unless she stepped up to offer to help her financially. Sure she can sit on the outside and tell her what she should and shouldn't do but in the end of the day she ain't the one paying her bills she's not the one who has to worry about if the kids are going to have their next meal or them growing up in a bad neighborhood. To the “cousins” (and anyone questioning them): here’s some clarity. 3rd cousins means your common ancestor is your great-great grandparent & 5th cousins means your common ancestor is your 4th great grandparent. You owe it to your children to teach them how to appropriately attach to and get along with their peers, to the best of your ability. These kids are going to spend the majority of their lives alongside their peers. I grew up like this, and it's a constant struggle to be socially appropriate and elevate myself professionally. I love my parents but they screwed up my future due to their paranoid beliefs about the world.
