My nit-picking below not withstanding, I must say that Mr Korchnoi did a great video of what remains my favorite game. "A House Divided" is the perfect combination of historical simulation and game excitement. And the system is so "clean" that if there is an aspect of it that a player believes is wrong historically, it can be easily fixed. For example, my opponent and I put limits on the number of cavalry units on the board for each side and we prohibit a cavalry unit that is operating alone from occupying a major enemy city, defined here as having an recruitment values of two or higher. We also allow for one or two additional marches in a turn for a player to use solely to move units in the Trans-Mississippi Theater. That provides for action there.

Did those advanced charts come with later versions of the game? Mine doesn't have them.

Could you point out where in the video they are located? O haven't played the game since then so I'm a little fuzzy on what you are taking about.

The advanced charts the the flip side of the basic charts.

At the 31:08 point you stated, "At this point either side can retreat." No, retreat decisions are never a simultaneous thing. Instead, a player must decide on whether to retreat or stay at the beginning of his second or subsequent battle round. See page 10, rule 5.3 in the Mayfair edition that you are using. The decision to retreat or stay, I should add, is one of the most exciting aspects of the game.

At 26.18 the Union made a mistake by putting a militia recruit in Indianapolis when they could have placed it in endangered Louisville. Having it there might have prevented Louisville from being taken by the Confederates in their half of the turn.

Hello, all I have this version of A House Divided (4th edition English 2012). I'm desperately looking for either photos or scans of both the Confederate and Union display sheets - and also the basic rules summary booklet. Mine got destroyed when the garage leaked. If anyone has this verson of the game and are willing to email me either scans of photos of these bits please let me know. Would be hugely appreciated Cheers.

Have you checked the files section on board game geek? I would start there and if you don't find what you need you can post your requests there and folks are usually helpful. It is free to join BGG.
