The title and the narrative is misleading. The film is not about Mongolia, it is about Inner Mongolia which is a province of PRChina. The film is about Han Chinese women who were exiled at young age to Inner Mongolia. The film is not making a distinction of ethnicity of individuals and referring to Inner Mongolia a simply “countryside” is historically wrong. Sadly in Inner Mongolia Mongolian people became a minority on their own land. Nowadays 80% of the population of Inner Mongolia are Han Chinese and only 17% Mongolian.

It's shame to see that they made professional mistake to mislead Inner Mongolia - province of China as Mongolia which is the Independent country.

It’s Not Mongolia, its Inner Mongolia which is Chinese Province so that’s why clothes are not even not really Mongolian, plus Mongolia don’t speak Chinese language

I also strongly reject this misunderstanding. You are Khalkha Mongolia, not Mongolia! The main body of Mongolia is not in Outer Mongolia. Outer Mongolia cannot represent Mongolia.

Nowadays it’s about 20% ethnic Mongolian and 80% Han Chinese how am i supposed to call this place Mongol
