I love this song too. It always hits me in the feels. Looking back a decade to my early 20s I’m in a much better place in life but still have a strong love and connection to who and were I was even in that objectively worse time in life. Great reaction, it’s nice to see someone do a reaction to a BNL song that isn’t One Week. I hope you do more BNL, they have 30 years of mega hits for you to get through. If you’re looking for suggestions I think Lookin’ Up would be a fun one to see.

I feel you. I think this song can relate to a lot of us and the transitions in our lives and how the times we struggled gave us great fun and growth. Those times where simpler in some respects. I probably will do more BNL. I love the band and I will take your suggestion. Thank you. I might do a video on If I had a million dollars

I like your analysis. It has given me a bit of a new concept or approach to the lyrics. I always thought he was singing to the current occupant of the apartment, who was his former girlfriend. And that he had moved on to a new relationship himself, but was a little sad to see that she had moved on and was better off without him. That's why when he asks why she kept the mouse trap and the dish rack, it's like when people keep different belongings after splitting up, and when he's talking about the neighbor downstairs, he's asking if she still lives there since his ex-girlfriend would know by still being in the apartment. I also thought the line about him only coming here to talk was because he wanted to talk with his ex, but your idea of him just talking and reminiscing is interesting as well. I'm not sure which of us is interpreting at the same way as the original writer, but it's interesting to think about it both ways. Definitely keep up with the channel and be additional videos like this. Your thoughts are more insightful than half the people who watch these videos and go "huh, I wonder what that means."
