Got an Airfix 31 couplings are an issue they always drop off im thinking of glueing them on maybe
@wellchuffedrailwaysАй бұрын
Funny you should say that, I stripped an Airfix 31 down yesterday and serviced it! I have 2 and the couplings have fallen off on one!
@stefanjarrett1667Ай бұрын
@@wellchuffedrailways I think there's something that holds the coupling in place above the clip that you need to get doesn't come with a coupling have to buy it separate

7:49 Transformer carriers, the transformers are built to match the cradle and then moved to either their final destination or a transfer spot. Like kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4WWc6OmetCKmq8 8:09 That price tag is due to it being completely motorized 9:00 These are now used at the Selketalbahn (part of the HSB network) as they are way too light to run the tourist train up to the Brocken 10:28 Basically Marklin C track without the center rail, you can see the preparations for the holes

It pains me seeing all of those Walthers-made models sitting there knowing they're unlikely to be purchased and used. I mean, I get it considering this is Britain and the railways there have a very fascinating history from Gresley's magnificent locomotive designs to the struggles of modernization. However, it's still unfortunate that those models are going to sit for a while, especially considering that most American-made locomotive models tend to be exceptionally-reliable runners.
@wellchuffedrailwaysАй бұрын
Hi, Walthers is not a maker I am familiar with although I do recognise many of the locos. We see quite a few American layouts on the exhibition circuit but I assume these are using newer models. I do intend to add a few American locos to my collection so perhaps Walthers would be a good place to start. All the best and thanks for commenting Rick.
@jimmyseaver3647Ай бұрын
@@wellchuffedrailways You'd very much be in the right to start with a Walthers locomotive to start an American collection. Their Trainline offerings are often reasonably priced and have performance just as good as their high-end "Proto"-series locomotives thanks to sharing the same motor design and general drive system.

Some really good Bargains on the table, a £5 wagon boxed that's a good deal these days, a no brainer. The new wagons these days have two sides, if it comes to accuracy, just "wow" with detailing, even to the point like you have with new loco's, that you don't know how to hold them, so fragile is the detailing. But the real downside are the prices, an average of £35 for a plank wagon, that means if a loco pulls 3 wagons, that's over £100, that's 21 wagons of these £5 ones, that's just ridicules. Even if they cost a £10, that's still a good price. Mainline locos, not a fan of them anymore, aesthetic the bodies are still up to date, but mechanically I find them a real nightmare, besides bad motors, a lot of them have parts that start to deteriorate, plastics that have become unstable, that's why I avoid Mainline loco these days, even how tempting they might look. As for Heljan, I've seen people on the internet really breaking down their products, but to be honest, the few Heljan locos I have, are among the best running and looking ones I have. Perhaps a problem you might encounter is the super detailing, that makes them fragile to handle and in the past, glues used in the factory aren't always the best to hold these fine details in place, with the danger that these details can get lost on your layout. Anyway great video and train show, I wish I could be there, on the other hand my wallet is very happy I didn't😅 Cheers, Danny
@wellchuffedrailwaysАй бұрын
Hi Danny, £10 gets a good wagon, Oxford Rail are good value but the range is small. Most Mainline locos are poor but they look ok. All the best Rick
