Not sure about that grey car, maybe the villagers should chase it away with torches and pitchforks. The Lima looks good but for such a big loco it really ahould have a bit more detail but hey, at least the price was right. Amazing what you collect over the years and later on you don''t even know what you've bought or even why 😄

Lima class 50 I bought one for £20 new motor fine scale wheel set lump of church lead (don’t tell the vicar 😂😂😂) runs really nice. The one thing I would say that you can still get spares not like the Chinese Hornby models. Lovely video as always.

Hello, Pauline, Rick and Bobby! I was surprised that Pauline only selection three blue items, or four if you count the two blue brake wagons. I believe the blue coach was a Hornby Leeds united supporters coach with the window glass missing, so it’s true to real life, sorry but I remember the good old days of football supporters! Glad to see Bobbys back where’s Lola? Best wishes Harry

Interesting selection out of the bag, the Class 50 needs a Service. Actually they can be super detailed ie buffer beam, with cab hand rails, and scratch built interior. And of course subtle weathering. Liked the wagons, with the aligned brake blocks. The layout was good with the weathered buildings. Look forward to your next instalment.
@dannyvanstraelen3273Күн бұрын
Weird choice😂, not much to say about these. The lima wagon 100% H0, I think the best choice was the Bachmann break van set. The car dek wagon and the Lima class 50, I call them semi finished rolling stock, actual really made from a 1970's Toy perspective, rather than the scale model perspective. They have potential though and can be altered to decent scale model on a low budget, but that involves lot's of DIY changes, that in the end, if well done, gives it charm like the two altered wagon at the end. But in the end is it worth while doing this, while there are later better finished models available, that's an open question…

Ah, 1982. I was 17 & wondering whether my mates & I would be called up to fight in the Falklands War. This catalogue was one from my railway modelling "wilderness years (or more precisely decades)", so it's very interesting to see what I missed. 100% agree with your thoughts on the D49 class. They look great & my example is a excellent runner. The MR 4P 2-6-4 is a lovely loco too. I recently bought one for £40. Your knowledge is awesome. PS: I do my best to write my comments in the King's English!

For a brilliant short video on the red and cream train that Pauline was attracted to search YT for : TEE Trans Europa Express VT11.5 A music vid featuring the first trend setting recording by Kraftwerk. Found it when i was searching for the train formation for my Roco model of the VT11.5 . Although it is a West German DB train being a landmark Trans European Exptess train it connected many European capitals with West Germany after its introduction around 1959. It featured in all sorts of railway books i had when young being so futuristic for the sixties.

Wow that was a long video tread today. To me best layout was the first 009 station you filmed, not overcrowded in tracks or oval as you so often see with 009, not that anything wrong with that, it's just not my cup of tea. It's just the first time I see 009 like I would build it. I often think of buying some 009, as it's in scale with OO, even the rarer is broad gauge is interesting, so If I would but something different then 00, these would be my choices. In 009 we're being spoiled with ready of the shelf by Bachmann and Peco, unfortunately broad gauge as far as I know, only available in kit form and track scratch build. The Era1 H0 train Pauline requested on the French layout, is from Trix, it's the first German train "Adler". It should be very familiar, as this was a Stephenson designed loco, these types also ran on the Liverpool-Manchester line, and actually the first 3 running on the continent where in Belgium "La Flèche" (arrow)," L'Elephant"(elephant), and "Stephenson". And the first ever build Belgian locomotive "Le Belge", was the same type, license build by Stephenson's good friend John Cockerill. There are two Trix versions, with the oldest one, the drive motor sits in the first carriage, the later version it sits in the locomotive, but both versions are a bit like the first Hornby Rocket version, out of scale. But with an Era one freak like me, it sits on my list to buy, with the intention to turn it into a Belgian one for a small diorama of the first Belgian Brussels side station "Groenendaal". But despite it many flaws, this Trix model still goes for a lot of money, probably until someone will decide to make a more accurate one like Hornby did with Rocket. I'm going to cut it here, as there where so many goodies to see, great video, thanks Rick and Pauline. Cheers, Danny Ps if there ever should be a Thomas version of Rick I vote for a class 37😂😉
@wellchuffedrailways4 күн бұрын

0:17 The brown train is a pre 1920 Orient Express, the first car is made by Trix, and most of the rest is the Liliput version from before the rework, there might be a Fleischmann DESG one hiding in there as well. The locomotive is definetly a 1970s Jouef. 1:45 That red and white one is a Roco model, judging by the colors the VT11 as leased by East Germany (the original TEE scheme is more yellowish) 2:37 The famous Adler by Trix, and by the looks of the cars a fairly early one too. At the time of release there was also a fitting passenger set by Preiser, which makes it look less naked. This one is in 1/76 scale, the true HO one came years later. Should go well on a layout combined with the Rocket and the LMS Lion 29:38 There are ones on the market that have a moving claw unit now, but HO scale only 54:50 Great lego section. A tip for more viewing pleasure: have a look at the layout videos of the Hobbymesse Leipzig
