Baris Manco is a legend, he made is first record in 1962 at the age of 19 (giving his first concert at aged 15 in 1959), whatever the Beatles are to the west is what Baris Manco is to us. Despite the video tittle this song is not live and is not from 1982, the song is from his 1981 album, and this is from a tv show in 1982 and is mimed. Baris Manco died of a sudden heart attack aged 56 in 1999, until then he was one of the biggest influences in Turkish music for 40 years.

The lyrics of the Tropic song also describe the music while describing the Tropic. In the first part, the phrygian represents the 1st Tropic, and in the second part, the Mixsolid represents the 2nd Tropic. In the third part, the mixture of both represents the equinox.

"Donence" in this song means the equinox. The song is about the two sides of the Earth which lives the day and the night at the same time, two phases of life like our life and after life, parallel universes in which we have two alternative existance and so on. The lyrics roughly means that I am lonely, sad and silent in the dark here but there is another world in which people are singing in joy and I know that it will be my turn to be happy someday. I hope now all his whispers and his shadow image makes sense. Also the song has two chapters as you mentioned. First chapter is the dark, silent universe and the other is the joyful one right behind(or after) the equinox.

here is the translation of this song from a Turkish guy whose born in 80s. Actually hard to translate any Turkish sentence I mean apple to apple but I don't think is the dönence refers to tropic by any means. ofcourse pink floyd or zeplin or those times musics has parts in this song what makes this significant is anatolian vibe in it in the vibe... that little middle eastern turkic vibe... he is our barıs big brother uncle esc... ps. you should try : nick the chopper - little darling and trip fairground all from baris manco but in english...

The song belongs to the band Kurtalan Ekspress, it was composed in 1980 as an instrumental song. After 2 years, with Barış Manço, they have put some lyrics and made it in more like in pop style. The lyrics is a typical dualistic thing which exists almost in all cultures.
