That's really false statement. Feynman always wanted to explain physics in most easiest form so that large audiences could get interest in physics but he himself knew almost all math known at the time and used that knowledge in his research works. Einstein, Landau, Dirac are prime examples of physicist using really complex mathematics in their works. According to your statement Newton is not "real" physicist because he didn't struggled in math. Some physicists do struggle with mathematics of some other area requiring specialised study of that field but this statement is false for 99% of physicist.

Is this an Entropy question? in a system Entropy must always increase with time, y cannot be zero invariantly over any t without energy being added back into system. Probabilistically the rate at which y does not equal zero would be informative of the system gaining or losing energy .
