I'm so glad you've dicovered my favourite voice! I strongly recommend watching 14 year old Diana singing 'Rechenka' for your next Diana reaction. Her vocal agility is astounding. There are different videos of her performing this song on KZbin, including one where an annoying reverb has been added, but the best one to watch was uploaded by Kwstas Vagas 10 months ago and is titled 'Diana Ankudinova Rechenka (Age 14 yo) best quality'. I don't think we can share links on KZbin anymore. I also recommend 'The Ornery Horses', her rendition of a Vysotsky classic, for her display of emotional depth. The best version in my opinion was uploaded by Diana Ankudinova 4 years ago, and is titled 'The Ornery Horses - Diana Ankudinova'. My third recommendation would be 'The Crow'. Thank you for your reaction to my beloved Diana. She sang this cover on the MaskGoOn show, where the winning singers of the Mask show over the past 3 years were invited, Diana was invited to this show as the winner of the children's show "You're Super", which is held for children deprived of parental care. I won't touch on her personal life, you can read it all on Wikipedia. I'll just say that Diana has been living with a foster family since she was 5 years old. Diana became known to the musical community precisely after the two shows "You're Super" on which she was out of competition and won accordingly. If you want to go deep into the rabbit hole, then at least you should start with her performances on the show "You're super." There were 7 of her performances and all of them deserve attention. But if you choose the best ones, then these are "Rechenka", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Darnier Danse" in the order of my preferences. If you are still interested in digging further after these performances, then you will find a lot of material by continuing to watch her performances on the MaskGoON show. There are no bad performances from her here either, but personally I would single out her following performances: "Crow" and "Personal Jesus" of the DM group. In conclusion, I would like to add that when Diana performed the song "Can't Help Falling in Love" she was 18 years old. That was a great analysis and it is always fun to watch a professional react to our wonderful and unique "Queen of Goosebumps". And as many others have mentioned, you just scratched the surface. The question is where to go from here? Another really, legendary, performance from this show is her "Crow" performance, but there are many others that are excellent. Any of the "You are Super" performances at 14-15 yrs old, especially "Darnier Dance", or "Wicked Game", "Rachenka". I could offer so many that are mind blowing in their own way up to and including her nine performances on the TV show/competition "Avater" (that she won). Enjoy the ride, I sure am. I look forward to your next Diana analysis. BTW since job picking out the pharyngeal space she has naturally as one of the reasons for her unusual timbre. Most people assume that she is pulling back her tongue, but her sound is really a product of her unique vocal instrument that she is constantly working to develop, as you can you usually find that she has a flat and relaxed tongue position. Doe she sometimes drop her larynx? Sure, but there is a reason why nobody else sounds like her, or can.

😛😉😛Если говорить языком военных - Диана использовала идеальную стратегию исполнения песни!!! Я ее называю "Стратегия реки". Вначале, у своих истоков, течение тихое, почти не заметное. Чем дальше мы спускаемся по реке - тем течение становится шире, глубже, полноводнее, стремительнее. Ну а в конце нас совершенно неожиданно ждет водопад - опасный, пенный, бурлящий, неистовый, неудержимый, все сметающий на своем пути!!!

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique". Congratulations for being so rare a reactor to pronounce her name correctly. Most can't do that after trying 5 times. Or ever!!!

Hi Nick, so glad you finally reacted to Diana. Diana was 18 years old the time this performance she is currently 21. Diana had a very tragic and brutal early childhood. Her birth mother beat, starred in attempted to drown Diana. At the age of Three Diana was found on a street corner in the middle of winter in our eastern Russia, battered and bruised and a broken collarbone. She was removed from the home and given to an orphanage. At the age of five, Diana was adopted by a loving family, but was unable to speak properly because of the abuse. It was suggested that giving her singing lessons would help with her speech, but they discovered she had a perfect ear for music and love to sing. I suggest doing a little searching for Diana's story, she was abused and abondoned as a very small child (4) and spent a lot of time unable to speak (music healed her). It is an amazing story. I have never heard a valid explanation for Dianas voice, I have seen voice analysis software used to view the very very strong harmonics (4 overtones strong above the fundamental)....plus some undertones. Diana had just turned 18 when she sang this song. I would suggest you turn the clock back to Rechenka or Wicked Game on a contest for orphaned children in Russia (she was 14 and 15 years old), though she does have some stuff when she was even younger. Diernier Dance is also amazing (the full version at a concert venue). She continues to sing, and would suggest you view her duet with Brandon Stone (The Day You) to see how her voice and range has grown as she has grown. Suggest you go to her KZbin channel to best avoid copyright strikes. Best of luck.

Greetings from Scotland! One thing about Diana is that she places no boundaries on her vocal abilities. S0, what is Diana's Vocal range and style? When she first began to draw wider attention in 2017, her vocal range was measured as *D3 to A5.* As of September 2021, her functional vocal range was measured as *C3 to B♭5.* As of 2023 her range has increased. approximately from *G2 (G below middle C) to D6 (D in the sixth octave).* Now at 21yo her top note is a G#6 and her range encompasses the lower contralto notes up to higher soprano notes. Together with her unique tessitura, it identifies her voice type as *dramatic contralto* which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice. Since the last measurement the upper range has increased further and in a recent performance at in the show "AVATAR" is currently *G#6!!* This puts Diana in the realm of a Coloratura soprano, also a rare vocal type, because thick vocal cords are needed to produce the large, dramatic notes, which usually lessens the flexibility and acrobatic abilities of the voice. Not so with Diana!

Love to be here, following your journey discovering our little diamond, black pearl, white crow... If anyone, she is a dramatic contralto. Powerful, rich resonating low notes, low tessitura, yet not affraid using higher notes, being a contemporary singer. Diana uses all kind of techniques, and trains her voice constantly, including her upper registers too. I'm sure you will be curius to hear her development. I completely agree with you, notes are just little, very empty characteristic of singing. Diana paints with her voice, graciously gliding through notes, choosing colors, and pouring her emotions into them.... and for me she always looks effortless, channelling the energy... Here she blended/mixed such a gorgeous, tender low voice at the start...like questioning, or quietly thinking about her feelings.... then going up adding the air creating the aspirate onset, the adding a little cry in the mix, creating the atmosphere of vulnerablitiy, herself afraid feeling she is falling in love.... leading to her realising YES, she can't help it, she is falling in love.... then at the end belting it out to the world, love sweeping everything away, YES she can't help it, she is falling in love! I aslo agree beside emotions literally in her case her C3 note sounds like a C2... due to her timbre, the space she is creating... the contrast and aspirate onset then sounds higher then 4th octave, again not the note itself is releveant. Many will recommen lot of songs, my only advice i also recommend her Derniere Danse song, but do NOT react to the TV show version, simply it's 3 minutes shorter and you can barely hear her. From age 14 to 21 she sang Derniere Danse, full version multiple times. In French, she sings in Russian, English, German, Spanish, Arabic, and other languages. Giant rabbit hole...tip of a massive ice berg really. Diana is amazing. Been following her from Texas for more than half a decade. She's a prodigy...Go back and find her cover of Wicked Game live on a TV show called "You are Super". It's a showcase for orphans and disadvantaged children and Diana was an orphan at one time....in any case, Wicked Game is what went viral in the West years ago and captured the imaginations of everyone at the age of 15 years old. It's equally atmospheric, dark and spectacular.

This is the first show of the contest, so I think it's safe to say that some of them had never heard Diana sing before. If you can find it, there's a subtitled version of this where you get a chance to hear their commentary on her singing. One of the two announcers admitted to having cried during the performance. Oh yeah, she did win the contest. 😄
