It was one of the most shocking series in nba history cause dallas was 67-11 going into that playoffs right there with the 72 win bulls it felt like and the warriors lost 40 games plus it was ts first 8 seed to beat a 1 seed in 7 games and guys like biedrins pietrus ellis were nobodies j rich hadn't played in the playoffs and guys like barnes and harrington were seen as meh garbage time tier guys...67 wins was all time back then pre spurs warriors cavs heat celtics pushing that wins record stat down a little since then as a big deal...the only teams to win 67+ games were led by either wilt or mj who both did it multiple times...the 72-73 celtics also did it but lost in round 1...but it predates their 74 title and 76 title teams...my point is it was a big deal and in 4 of the previous and only 5 cases it meant a title or in the one non case a title the next season at least..coming off a finals everyone expected the mavs to make the west finals at least
