This song can mean many different things to many different people, but I believe it's about someone calling out to God for His comfort, and not recieving it straight away. But holding on to their faith and the wisdom he has given them to know that he is with them and will never forsake them. Very powerful song. Thank you Lord!

I'm Christian.This song is def Christian.But this is just my point of view.For me its about our relationship with God.We cant see God,but we will hold tight to what we know(Scriptures/God's word).And with God,we'll never be alone.We also trust the unseen (meaning our faith).Hope this helps =)

But faith is something you put into someone or something who has earned it. Not something you’ve never met or known. Christians can feel all kinds of things, I thought I “felt” the lord too. When I first heard this song My Best Friend/brother pointed this song out me. He told me that any time I felt sad or lost and needed something to remind me of him I could listen to this and he would be there to comfort me. I at first didn't know what he meant by that. till February 25, 2015 almost two years ago, I got a message from a friend of mine and he told me that my best friend/brother was on his way home from work and fell asleep behind the wheel and hit the back of a semi and landed in the ditch and died on impact.... I was so hysterical..... and devastated.. I cried for 3 days straight. I would listen to this song all day and night thinking and wishing and screaming his name and begging him to come back. I needed him to comfort me but it never happened. the day we laid him to rest we played this song and ever since then this is my comfort song. cause I know that even though he is invisible and he may not be with me physically i know he is with me spiritually. he is always there. I miss him so much and it kills me to know I'll never see him again or feel his hugs or hear his voice or see his smile but I know when I play this song, his song I'll always have him there beside me and I know I'm never alone as long as this song stays close to me. he will stay beside me. This was one my favorite bands that enjoyed as teenage boy I was 18 or 17 when Christian Rock Bands had a positive approach to difficult trials and tribulations this song and SuperchicK Stand in the rain it gave me hope someday see Yeshua soon .In my twenties backslided in my 30s reconcile with Yeshua now 37 years younger lol 😂 I got my spiritual passion and fire 🔥 up for Him I hope He never gets rid of my spiritual passion and fire for Him . I loss my Fiancé in December 2015 and Mom in March 2018 I don’t understand why He took them from me still seeking Him in Faith and Truth even get so depressed about losing them. Just like the Barlow Girls say trust in The Unseen never ever lose my hand in His . I'm familiar with the band Barlow Girl enough to know that this is indeed a Christian song by a Christian band. I do agree that they are talking about their relationship with God in the song. HOWEVER, if someone who is NOT a Christian were to interpret a totally diff meaning, what's wrong with that? It's still a great song with a positive message, a message that could still give hope to someone who is troubled, Christian or not. Isn't that supposed to be a good thing?
