I am remodeling a living trailer and want to install a 4ft barn door as a front door to the patio. I had the same question about the gap. But watching like tons of videos and websites I wonder IF by using a T-Shape wheel connection the gap will become smaller and if build a frame around the door, same thickness as the top rail the gap will be even more small to almost close. It sounds like I am telling, but actually I am asking to see IF my thought make sense. I dont want a 2 inch gap. Another thing I noticed is that a lot of hardware says "1" - 1.45" door panel thickness". But If the door is 2" think does that mean I can not use the hardware? Just asking to see I you know the answer. Nice video and thanks for the info, hope to hear from you.

Either the metal rail is crooked or the wood that metal rail is bolted on is crooked. I think it’s the wood.

It is all level and square (The door sits in a neutral state no matter where you put it on the rail as well.) It is that hammered metal and rustic wood look so the edges are kinda odd and trick your eye in the video I think.

Yep a recessed pull of some sort would have been a great addition.
