Yes, I plan to do a full walk through and highlight all of what I did, all the way back from the barn beam mantel, exposed beams, floating shelves, barn doors, through to the upcoming built ins that I’m doing now. I hope you got a chance to see all of those previous build videos on my channel. The built ins will be uploaded in several videos as a cabinet making series. Stay tuned!

Excellent vid! This gave me the knowledge (and courage) to build my own door. The one at the back of my house needs replacing. You were using inches. Thought you made the switch to metric.
@AnthonyScolaro1
@AnthonyScolaro1 Жыл бұрын
This video was before I started using Metric. Even though to this day, in some instances like with common building materials and some moldings, I will occasionally use imperial. However that’s now about only 5-10% of the time. The other 90-95% is metric.

@@AnthonyScolaro1 Wow! Thanks for the speedy reply. My plane must need sharpened (along w my skills). I’m not sure I could do that w a hand plane. So sorry for another question, however - what species of wood did you use? I’m going to try and build the same door. I’m a DIYer, and I don’t have all of the tools you have, but I’m going to give it my best shot. Great looking door! Fabulous work.

@@dalepetrak5688 knotty Alder wood. I buy it rough sawn from my hardwood dealer and mill it myself to S4S. If you’re buying it already S4S it will be expensive and you have to make sure it’s really straight and the moisture content is 10% or lower.

@AnthonyScolaro1
@AnthonyScolaro1 Жыл бұрын
It all depends what you are doing. I am a professional custom cabinetmaker/finish carpenter/woodworker, so I use them on 90% of my daily work. They are great for layout mostly on cabinets and built-ins(the bulk of my business)I can justify buying them but I can’t see a hobbyist or a regular carpenter doing framing or moldings needing these at all. What type of work do you do?
