I had an S reg Maxi Executive with the fairings and screen also side lockers, then i had a W reg given to me by my niece after she passed her car test it was parked for 2 years while she went to college. It only had 1,200 miles and was a kick start like yours, i used to clean the baffles every 500 miles were great reliable bikes used to do 12 miles a day to work

Love this, guys! My late grandad used to ride a 1980s Puch Maxi (which is still in the family, but currently laid up in a garage), so it's really funny that this video should appear on what would have been his 86th birthday...

What a laugh! You did right in taking off the Carb even just that quick clean out made quite a difference. I think if you had just a small piece of foam taped on as an air filter then that would have made it run better. The point is though it runs and drives so what more could you ask for? 'Talkin bout my generation', (Mod helmet) but I haven't died before I got old. 🤣 Great video Claire and Elton, something very different. 👍👍

Thank you. We’ve had a bit of a debate about whether to upload it, hence the delay. Good shout re. the foam 👍🏻

From what I remember, there's a gauze filter in the fuel tap, which can be accessed by unscrewing the tap from the tank. Also another thimble type gauze filter in the removable union on the carburettor where the fuel pipe fits. Points gap and ignition timing have to be spot on for the engine to run properly. Set up well they are pretty brisk for a stenchwheel. Oh, the memories...
@UKBarnFinds13 күн бұрын
I did think it was odd that there was no visible fuel filter. Thanks for that. Glad it brought back some memories for you 😀

My mates dad did house clearances and bought about 20 of those things. He gave us kids 1 each because nobody wanted um. We used um as field bikes for years, they were brilliant fun. Pedal um until the green light came on and away you went.

They must have been everywhere, back in the day. We really need to get one of the earlier pedal versions.

Quite similar to Honda Graduate I bought at end of 1972 having been caught it by raise in age law. Of course when rules came in there was no restriction in power (other than CC) but they had to have pedals. Hence the arrival of mopeds like FS1E that could do around 50mph (couldn’t afford one. Presume when yours was manufactured the pedal rule had been replaced by speed restriction. Think the lane in Henry’s show is private land.
@robertscott710212 күн бұрын
Try taking the baffles out of the exhaust. I have a Tomos moped which is a copy of the Puch and had similar running problems before I removed baffles and cleaned it, you can try running without just to see if any improvement. Great little bikes

Hello BOTH, very entertaining to watch you trying to start the engine, maybe a clean out of the fuel tank, then the gauze filter at the tap, the the carb float chamber?? I use to have one of the early models, two speed gearbox. Travel many miles, use to go shopping with pannier bags on the back , and a bag or two hanging from the handlebars! Apart from the bag of potatoes placed on the middle of the frame, supported by the legs!! Have you found 1st & 2nd gears?? Best wishes from Lincolnshire.

As far as i know there is nothing similar to the "ch" in the english language. Maybe this video (with english subtitles) will help to pronounce "ch": kzbin.info/www/bejne/eICmoHp7rt1sjJo
