I got a 99 scrambler 400 2 stroke “ barn find”. Bought it from original owner for 1200 bucks. Cleaned it up and the darn thing is mint!! Still has original Tires on it! Old guy bought it to check cows on his farm, thought it rode to rough, and parked it and rarely used it lol. I’m not a Polaris fan but I was all over this old 2 stroke. A sporty quad with a 2 stroke and 4x4 is a rare thing these days.

I just found the same machine 885 miles 1996. Old farmer that bought a side by side and had no use do it anymore. All original. So far the only thing I found was one skid plate bolt is a replacement.

I always love those xplorers. 400s are beasts

I just got the same ATV in the same condition except mines a 2000! Other than someone put a snorkel, a lift kit and Super Swamper Vampire mud tires in it, it’s pristine!! Great bikes that seem to be overlooked! Mine starts so easy even with the pull rope! I’m replacing the brakes on it just because I’m trying to find something to do on it!

Oh yeah, I’m in the U.S. but mines made in Canada! LOL

Excellent review, may get a 1998 300 tonight. $900 a decent deal? Great shape, kept inside.

Now if those motors are running right they’ll do 90 mph but I still think the banshee will go a little faster lol
@GREGSBIGFOREHEAD4 жыл бұрын
1. Thell do about 60mph and it sounds like the motor wants to die it does not have the proper gearing

It will come out when you pull the starter. It will be a pain. If you have a puller it might be better to pull the flywheel. I have a 1996 sportsman 400 and I love it. I would do the top end they tend to get piston slop

Just pick one up myself that just needs to be put back together for $300

batman Thanks For watchin. Believe me, everytime I pull something apart I'm always thinking what if. lol . what if I put a street bike engine in this quad?? The Go pro mount arrived in the mail yesterday. I think I'm going to do a chin mount in order to get the tach & speedometer in the Banshee vids for fun. it's about 27 degrees outside, the last time I went for a Ride I about Froze to the handlebars. come on spring!

Banshee Fever 750cc I’ve seen people get over 100 hp with these engines so I would not swap it

Use a heat gun for the faded plastic. Even a hair dryer first
@dellscatering9755 жыл бұрын
Hello, I have the exact same quad. Are you saying that all ya gotta do is hit the plastics with some heat to restore the color? I have heard this before but never tried it. Thanks.

Dells Catering let me know how the heat gun trick turns out! I’ve got an old sportsman in the barn that I’ll pull out if it works!
@dellscatering9754 жыл бұрын
@@GrumpyGenXGramps It seems like it will actually work. It is slow going and seems to be very easy to mess up. I started a small spot on the front fender and decided to not continue lol. Hope it helps.

Dells Catering , cool. Thanks! I’m not too worried about Messi h up on the old thing but I also don’t want to spend forever on it either! LOL

Hate to break your heart man but that's not the original mileage you can definitely tell someone's messed with that the numbers aren't lined up at all.
@MidnightPolaris8005 жыл бұрын
Your wrong buddy. The odometers were that way oem. This was 96 we are talking here, not real accurate from the factory
