As always, great video. Those gears remind me of the Singer 400/500 machines as well as the 201-2. I don't understand why the gearbox needs to be packed with grease. The gears only throw it off. Regular maintenance (oiling and grease) should take care of things. No?

I think they packed it full at the factory thinking in a commercial setting it may not be checked often and also gears would be in a grease bath all the time.

how thick can this machine sew? I found one for sale in my area and was wondering what would be a decent price to pay for it? Thanks. I plan on sewing leather

Not sure if it is useful for you, but here in NL the price seems to be around the 600-800 euro mark for a machine with clutch in decent condition. 1000 with servo motor.
