Make sure to checkout the video where we scored this awesome dump truck. We attempted to drive it home, and it went exactly as youd expect!!
kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnyXeZxqiL2Hjrcsi=hrXAvwuBJuxuNjjy
Otherwise, RolllingOps basically hired a madman of a private mechanic to get this Ford F750 back up and running! Trevor managed to get the transmission out and back in like an indy pit stop. He slapped in a brand new clutch, along with a couple of other odds and ins, and we took her for her first test drive around the shop.
The plan is to turn this dump truck into a show truck worthy vehicle for my dumpster business!
Luckily, I have found a great few guys who know what they are doing and can help bring the vision to life!
Next will likely be a wheel change and paint job!
Make sure to subscribe to see what we do next!

Having owned a few of those Fords the 3-4 MPG kills the fun fast. If you build the roll-off rig I would recommend adding a diverter valve and running hydraulic cylinder reeving for simple loading using the PTO system you already own.

A 12 valve Cummins sure would be sweet in there. I have an Ats turbo and exhaust brake that i might be talked into departing with 😉

Pull the whole hub and wheel assembly for doing a wheel seal on cast spoke/ Dayton wheels. To change your wheels to a bud wheel or hub pilot you’d be looking at getting all new hubs witch can cost up to $800 a piece then you have to buy the rims

Oooof. Yea, for the time being, it may be a repaint

You don't have to break down the spilt rims to fix the wheel seals. With dayton hubs, loosen the wedge bolts and thwack the tire with a sledge before fully removing them or the wheel might jump on the last one.

Sounds like these Daytons aren't all that nad

The Daytons aren't bad. Sometimes it's a fight to get them running true. Don't do anything to the spilt rims without a tire cage.

Those are Dayton wheels and hubs. Not the much more dangerous split ring wheels. Split rings are dangerous because the rim itself is made to be taken apart. And if something is done wrong or the parts that hold the ring on are worn out it can self disassemble. And with 110 psi of tire pressure the forces are pretty unreal and it can tear a human apart if you’re in the wrong place. Daytons can jump when you take the wheels off if you skip the step of hitting the wedges with a hammer. Or the wedge can shoot out if you take the lug nuts all the way off before you loosen the wedges. Far less dangerous and really no more scary than anything else on a big truck. Just have to pay attention to what you’re doing.

For the dash pad, the f600 and up 73-79 fords used a 67-72 f100 dash. Just get a dash pad for a 67-72 f100 and it will work.

Those are Dayton wheels not Split rims. If they are 20" wheels you can get once peice 22.5 Dayton rims that fit and can use modern tires with no tubes. If they are 20" then they are split ring not split rim with tubes.
@trentontaylor5447

The wheels on that truck are daytons, not split rims. Look up Dayton semi wheels. To take them off you need to loosen all nuts (don’t take them completely off) then smack the wedge with a hammer to break it loose. Nothing dangerous about it.
@trentontaylor5447
@trentontaylor5447 8 ай бұрын
Also, once you remove the first wheel, you will have a spacer ring that will need to come off. Best way to do it is take 2 hammers and smack both sides to get it off. A regular 1/2 impact will remove the 5 lug nuts no problem.

The wheels are dangerous, when you repair a flat tire. You well be hard pressed to find a tire shop that well repair one. I repaired one at our tire shop put it on the inside rear, it rolled 100 yards, and came apart. We no longer repaired them.

They are not dangerous at all. A split rim is dangerous, but this is not a split rim..

@@rollingops just curious as to why , are there anymore advantages to cable than the hook ?
@rollingops
@rollingops 8 ай бұрын
@DeltaCo7175 it's a highly debated topic. Hook is typically always faster, but cable is typically more capable and I can show people real life versions of both and argue it to death, but it's definitely preference. I like how easy it is to repair a cable truck and get it back out if something breaks as well.
