Oh man! This brings back some great memories! I had a '58 Mighty Met back in the mid to late 90's. Red and white, no trunk lid, full windows and right hand drive. Cause we drive on the left here in Sunny South Africa! 😉 Was a real little champ that car and had sooooooooo much fun in it back then. But those brakes! Man oh man! I used that car every day for a years, but could never get the brakes right. They would seize up twice on my route to work, so I had 2 spanners with me at all times... Half inch and 7/16ths... Would jump under the car, release the pressure in the brake system, then I was good to go till the next lockup! Oh man! Tooo many memories in that little car! Do you guys still have it? Has it been restored yet?

Thx for watching. Still have car. Same shape. Gave it to my 18-year-old son and I hopes that he’ll restore it. He has other projects, but he’s learning and I think this will make a good project for him. Mets are still around and cheap compared to other cars. 😎 cheers. Thx again for watching.

That might be a few years. Not on the front burner of things to do.

I think he is having too much fun. Time to start cleaning the rust off and prepare it for painting.

If you ever did get something stuck in the mud down by the lake, according to my figures on 707 motors like your B model has that thing would have more than enough torque in 1st to haul just about any of your project cars out. Just an idea for the future, maybe a video in mind should you ever find yourself in the situation... Those 707s were famous for their immense power! But they also had a reputation for never being able to pass a gas station... But hey, similar to your catch phrase, use them when you can if you’ve got ‘em...

Yes I could, in fact in days of old the fire departments used them to "Pull a Horse out of the Ditch" see Leno's garage for this quote. Very Funny line and great 1914 American LaFrance Engine belonging to Gary Wales one of Jays Friends. What a car guy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6STan6ZaLemarM
