We had one my senior year in school. My Dad bought a '62 F85 and swapped it a week later for the Jet Fire. We drove it from Alabama to LA in August that year, passing over heated Caddys. The boost kicked in on steep hills without down shifts. The heavy duty cross flow radiator worked great in the 120F weather. It was a great car!

@oldsjetfire89752 жыл бұрын
Wasn't quick. Had to change the cam and lifters. Pulled all the interior out to clean it and air it all out. Was a lot of work but worth it to make another one road worthy again. The car is located in Florida now and likely to get a full restoration in the future.

Am I the first to mention the used cars window stickers that don't look like 1971?
@oldsjetfire89752 жыл бұрын
The guys son said he got that car a long time ago and those stickers were on the window. He pulled them off and stuck them on the inside of the Jetfire glass. I still have those stickers on my cabinet in the garage.

02:45 You said that it might have been in the barn since 1971 but I dont think that stickers/plotters from the window can be that old.
@AutoArchaeology2 жыл бұрын
We went through the history and it is correct, it was put away in 71. Not in that exact barn, but it was parked in 71.
@AutoArchaeology2 жыл бұрын
And those big stickers was for the sons used car business. He just stuck them on there.

Back when I was 16 & spongebobin @ my first job at BK **aka the former burger chef.... remember those ?? Some strange women approached me about buying a car she had...& I was envisioning this.... Nope ..it was another incarnation in the form of a hatchback...think Vega/Monza...sad.. just like they destroyed the Nova plate and now a Blazer is just a crossover car.....sigh...
