Barn swallows caught in hanging glue traps

Please - do not use hanging glue traps.
We are currently caring for two young barn swallows that came to us after getting caught up in one.
It’s a delicate process to remove the glue.
First, we massage the feathers with cooking oil.
Then we remove the oil using Dawn liquid dish soap.
Then we dry the feathers, all the while being very careful not to further damage the feathers.
Fortunately, in this case, not too many feathers were pulled out or damaged beyond repair. We’re hopeful we’ll be able to release them in a couple of days in the area where they were found, provided the glue traps are taken down.
Please avoid using hanging glue traps. There are many other bug traps on the market that are much more environmentally friendly.

I have only just found this .More good work by your amazing people .Horrific to see the damage to the bird's tail feathers .Now for a big 'please ' I have a pretty large YT channel and would like to share this with many subscribers round the world using your link .Hope this is fine by Salthaven Wildlife .
